Getting back into Heli's
Hello all,
I am planning to return to heli flying. I have been out of the link for a couple of years and before was able to foward flight pretty well and flew the Raptor 50. Well, I sold that heli and continued flying fixed wing, which I have been doing for twenty some years, I have decided to get back into the helis and got a pretty good deal on a Xcell 30 RTF minus receiver. Do you all think I will be ok with this heli relearning to hover and all. I just don't want a heli thats going to be to much for me. Should I keep this one or trade it out for another Raptor 30. I want to stay with the thirty size. This is a nice heli with new OS32 and 401 gyro.
Thanks for all your opinions.

well, they're heavy since many components are 60 sized but also, because of that, they're mostly indestructable.

At Ernie Hubers, they were used ALL the time for that reason.

I would say skip the 30 and go straight for a 50. They are much more stable with the larger rotor disc, and not to mention the extra power. The initial cost will be a little more, but you won't find yourself looking to upgrade anytime soon...

I've got a Raptor 50V2 and a T-Rex 600 Nitro Pro. Either of them would be a great choice, but I would recommend the T-Rex.

Go with a nitro thirty if you want long relaxing flites.
Your first mistake was selling your heli and continuing with fixed wing flying.

You have the 30 sized X-cell, apparently in flyable condition. Replace the 32 SX-H with an OS 37SZ-H, put a good exhaust on it, and fly the pants of the heli.

The 37 with a good muffler really makes a 30 sized heli come alive. If you want a bit more oomph, run 30% nitro in it.

That heli will take you well past the hovering stage.
