IMO the closest simulator to actual reality would be the Phoenix simulatorRyan.

i got g3.5 and afpd, but been flying mainly g3 for the past while. I've flown the helis on afpd, and dont really care for them. how is g3's helis? I've flown a few helis IRL, i just don't own one, but would like to know if Phoenix is really that much better than G3.

Thank you

There is always going to be at least one thing a particular simulator is better at than the other. For the money, I would go with Phoenix RC. It clean, simple, doesn't take alot of system resources, excellent physics, and you get to use your own TX.

so there's really that much of a difference?

How do the helis handle vs. g3? like what is g3's weakness? not getting on you, just wanting to know what phoenix is doing better than g3. like flips, or gyros, or autos or anything like that.

There is no doubt that g3 will get you to where you want to go, nobody's saying it won't, but Phoenix takes G3 and makes it better; Better physics engine. As with anything, we're always looking for that extra edge, a simulator thats even the slightest better than the previous will instill more confidence in a pilot. If you have the chance to fly Phoenix you'll understand.

Hi daniele76

I don't no why but I love reflex XTR.Once you can al the basic stuff you keep progressing.

Just fly it like the sim and don't be nervous.I do know one thing that reflex saved me a lot of crashes.
Not one in 3 years.

Realflight G3 (g3.5) here.
plusses
own controller in a "proper"casing with "proper" layout
link your own TX through it with supplied buddy leads
2-player option with the above
night-flying...and you can alter it from dawn through night
photofields...if you don't mind standing in one spot
"rendered" fields..chase or cockpit"camera"gives you loads of square miles to explore (OK, more like R L piloting, but a fun diversion )
On-screen "gadgets" if wanted,including TX-showing stick and switch movements,windspeed,altitude,heading, etc.(all selectable)
training mode..selectable for what controls are automatic..also hover-circle is definable. increase number of user-controls and reduce the circle as you become more competent.
Demonstration flights by the likes of Pete Niotis...talks you through the manoeuver and the TX is on-screen so you can see the inputs.
Free upgrades .( Also you can buy extras and addons)
rapidly expanding database of free field and model downloads
internet multiplayer mode.
ERM...i'll be here all night if I go through the lot!!

MINUSES
It's a system-hog in rendered fields, with shadows, swaying trees, clouds scudding along, smoke pouring from the exhaust...

rendered fields look a bit like a "picture" (some will say "cartoonish"

Price in the UK..but remember it DOES come with a dummy Futaba radio (USB connect) if you don't already have one.
ERM....-Anyone?

I would definitely look at PHOENIX if I were in the market again. The posts here are so positive about it and the price is excellent.

IMO xtr was very heavy handed with people who had "pirate" cables their backup appears to be inferior to RF G3 or Phoenix, their new ivol controller looks like a playstation device....nah! that's why I got G3 (phoenix didn't exist then! )

Reflex is best, because that is the one I have

I only say that, because there is no best, the major players are all good. Maybe shop for features, such as online, included controller, that sort of thing.
