Get a Great Panes Triton. Not the Junior. Does them all and then some! Best $125 you'll spend. Have had mine for years. Plug and play! Never looked back.Where's that EASY button?

The accucycle Elite is also a good choice. That's what I use, no complaints. But, it's limited when charging lipos, 3S packs maximun. What's good about it is has 2 charging outputs. The Triton 2 can charge larger cell lipos, up to 5S packs.

Why buy?? when you can borrow and no return

I too have one of these chargers. As long as you won't be needing to charge more than a 3S lipo then this charger is great for you.
it only for nitro rx bats...
Think the accucycle will work great for your needs.
it can be used as a field charger , its AC/DC, and it cycles as well. Think they run about $130 -$140

Orbit Pocketlader

This is one quality versatile unit that charges everything including A123's. Cost new around $100, used around $75

It has updatedable software. You can download updates as new versions of software are developed to improve it's abilities. When new battery type come out in the future, they provide a charge program that you download and it will charge it.

It's a 4amp charger.
Super easy to use.
Made in Germany

And it will do 5s

I've even used it to charge my lawn tractor battery after the winter season. It has lead acid (Pb) charge cycle.

It has discharge cycles.

The triton JR is a great charger for your current needs.

I'm currently using this:

it works great.

I second the 5014, I bought even two of those, unless you want to charge 6S lipo, it can do everything you want for a very reasonable price !*** fly more ***

and charges lipos too?

Go with one that will charge the largest amount of lipo cells that you think you will ever fly in the near future...since you mentioned lipos.

I eventually ended purchasing two chargers...a Triton which does up to 4S (second generation not out then) and an Astro 109 up to 9S.

Both @ $100 range.

thanks, i was looking seriously into the triton but i like the 5014, does the 5014 cycle and balance aswell? also if they say it charges lipos does that usually mean it will do lithium ions as well?

The 5014 does cycle as well and does both LiPo and LiIon, but not balance - for this a balancer is usually used. Think you can find the description on Mutilplex US page.*** fly more ***

Triton or pocketlader. I have both and can recommend either. The others I can't talk about as I dont know.

The triton needs more setup. The leads the triton come with are strictly chuck away unless they have improved them with the V2. They caused all sorts of false peaking on my setup. I make all my own leads from flexible high strand wire.

The pocketlader has taken care of all that for you....So it's easy to use. The pocketlader has more functionality which I really like. It has a NIXX charge function.....so important for formation charging of new batteries. You can hook it to a computer with optional software and cable. It is small. The bios can be flashed when updates come out for it from your own computer. Both need a DC power source.

If you may want to charge two RX batteries at once consider a charger with two outputs. Or you will need two chargers.

You may want to future proof yourself for the A123 battery chemistry.

Bear in mind some guys are saying to use a lipo charge on Li-ions as they will cut off the charge too soon on li-ions. I get .2 lower voltage from that recommended as a cutoff voltage during charge from the li-ion setting. Using lipo setting I get the correct cutoff voltage. Something to do with the original li-ion cells being a slightly lower voltage but don't quote me on that.
also if they say it charges lipos does that usually mean it will do lithium ions as well
I believe that may answer that question but check it out.
