Why wait? If you have the money go for the se v2 right off the bat.

Been flying one for the better part of a year..Metal head block, 401/9650...flys two three times a week, still on the orignal tail belt..Align 35X esc, 430 XL 12 t, Hyperion blades...Does it all, never breaks unless I crash it...Great heli.

I just got one about 3 weeks ago and love it. It's 120° swash mixing and is fully capable of 3D out of the box. I got one because the SE was out of my price range. You can upgrade it as time goes by to the point of having an SE V2. Run the stock motor in it till you get comfortable with it and then throw a bangin motor in it like an Arc or Scorpion. I'm running mine at 3000rpm on the stock blade grips and woods no problem. I'm getting about 5-6 minutes run times on it with an 11 tooth pinion and 2100mah TP. Running HS-65HBs and 401/9650 and 10°/-10° pitch. You won't go wrong with either one, but if you're on a budget, the SA combo would be the way to go. JMHO

Yes..just depends on how much you want to spend on parts....Metal is nice, but not necessary for a good flying heli.

The SA is a fine heli. It flies just as well as the SE does. Yes, parts are interchangeable.

Considering that you can build a Trex 450 these days and not have any Align parts in the thing, yes, they are interchangeable.

I'm having a blast with mine. Finished it about two weeks ago. It's my first try at electrics and I've been impressed.Larry Rogers - R/C Helicopter Pilot

Just got an email back from Align in regards to part swaps. The SE and the SA parts are interchangeable. So, with this in mind, I am definately going with an SA.....and will get an SE later on.
