Trex 600E ESC Red Wire Confusion
I purchased a used 600e and the prior owner had clipped the
red receiver wire from the motor ESC wire to the receiver. The wire from the motor ESC plugged just black and white into the receiver.

What does that do and why should/would you do that?

Thanks for your response - I searched and didn't find much
on this?

the red wire is the + power wire.

what he did was remove/clipoff the red wire from the ESC and he
must have used a separate BEC (instead of the one built into the ESC).

You can't have 2 things supplying power to the RX so that is why
he did it.

The previous owner did not have to clip the red wire because there is NO power going through that lead. The 600 does come with 2 power supplies and the power to the electronics is through the receiver battery. There is no BEC "built-in" on the 600s ESC, unlike the 450's ESC.

Really there's no reason to do anything. You have a normal 600e setup.

That's for the CC 80 ESC. The Align ESC does send power through the red wire.

Even the CC85HV does not send power through the red wire.
