Desktop/Taskbar Q for Windows gurus?
Minor Desktop/Taskbar issue using Windows XP Home

Used to perhaps with previous versions I recall with clarity that the desktop would resize when disabling the taskbar "autohide" feature so that nothing would be hidden behind the taskbar including the wallpaper - But playing around with it right now on my XP it seems it'll only move and resize the icons and applications but still leaves the wallpaper hidden behind the taskbar

I know it's a minor issue but it's kinda bugging me because of the particular wallpaper I'm using right now as the taskbar which I like to leave visable is hiding the bottom of the wallpaper which isn't very pleasing in this case

Anyone know if this is just an XP thing that I never noticed until now or if it's bugging on me or if there's an obscure setting somewhere to control this behavior?

Thanks

The wallpaper won' resize
The wallpaper won't resize as it's an image. Resizing it requires an aspect ratio change. When autohide is enable, onlt the icons will move to accomodate the additional space.

Auto hide the task bar
Right click on a blank space on the task bar and go to properties.
You should be on the tab that says Taskbar. Check the box that says Auto-hide the taskbar, then click apply then ok and you are all done.
