There is guy here use stock ESC for 4S and had 500 flies(even without external BEC in his case, I am going to follow this too), no issue! But the motor is the Z-Power Z10 3300kv one.

I run a 4S 1800mah 25C Lipo, Medusa 6V BEC, CC35 ESC and a Z-power Z10A-3300. With this setup it has a stupid amount of power!!! I LOVE IT!!!

I use a RevCo 11 tooth.... works great! Don't use plastic upper and lower mixing arms. They are very flexable and cause a lot of tracking problems. Use TT or T-Rex450SE mixing levers!

I use Align Pro woodies right now. They work well and keep things cheap.

Nice, I have all that stuff. What flight time do you get on the 1800s and do you do run 100% flat?

I sport fly and get 10-11 minutes. If I fly it hard I get about 7 or 8.

Hard 3D I assume would drop the time down to 5 or 6.

l have the completely standard out of the box setup. Had about twelve flights on 3s 1800 packs. Today one of the guys at our club says try my 4s 2200 and see what you think. What l think is, this is like night and day. Yes l can 3D on 3s but on 4s it can really rip and flys more like a 50 size heli. l`ll be buying some 4s packs very soon.Flybars. Who needs `em.

Do the 4s fit in the canopy?
The biggest 3S lipo's allready fit pretty tight.
The extra cell will make it at least 8-10 mm thicker.
And does it heat up the motor and ESC more with the higher voltage?

My Flightpower 4s 1800 fits snug but fine. May try a Flightpower 2170, it's just a little bigger but shouldn't matter. It's 223g not bad all. Air Thunder is good from what I'm told but they are heavy.

My runs cooler than my friends 3s setup. Less amp draw.

Perhaps I will go with the 2170s then. I guess balance if fine with the larger packs?
