Too close
Well there I was...... Doing some tic tocs, tail lets go....... I managed to hit hold, continued the flip to inverted (it was going that way anyways) roll it out of inverted and land it safely on the deck. From less than fifty feet. I wasn't even shaking until after I realized how bad of a siutation I really was in. Turned out one of the main shaft collars cracked and allowed the mast to slide down and disengage the bevel gear. I would be willing to bet it was me overtightening it that caused it. Note to self...... Be nice to main shaft collars or it will seek revenge on you.....

Man...... It's a nice feeling. I didn't have to get yelled at by the wife. A good day.

It was my most recent Extreme. I just had the head out of it the other night so I know when I did it. I have already changed both collars out. The bottom one was the one that cracked and that allowed it to slip down while doing the tic toc.In God we trust, everyone else we monitor.
