Hey, just wanted to let you know that top photo is one of the best photos I've seen in a long time...

Any chance you can email me a hi-res version of it for my desktop. I promise to keep your name on the credit...

Thank you. I have started a small photo business through word of mouth and do not have the website up, but I do offer that image as an 8x20-inch poster print on photographic paper for 35.00. it is very cool at that size.

I also have this more traditional image of the Blue Angels diamond formation as an 8x10 for 17.50.

my shameless plug is up, will have the site up before xmas.

Question
Anyone know how they make 'em smoke like that?? I've always wondered how they make them smoke at different times. Even our turbine models can do that.

Smoke pump that is switch activated. Pumps the smoke oil into the exhaust which vaporizes it leaving the smoke trail."There is a fine line between cutting edge and bleeding edge.."

thanks Dave! that's Boeing Field.

Tommy, if you look on the top of the left nacelle in the first photo way above, you'll see the smoke-pipe. like Chris said, it is switch activated and turns the oil white from the heat of the jet exhaust.
