Mavrikk Canopy
I see that HleiProz has a nice looking Mavrikk fiberglass canopy. Has anyone tried one of these?

Does it save weight over the stock canopy?

wow I have one of the FRP (3D) canopies and they are wicked light compared to the stock milk jug canopy!

Not to steal the thread... but is there a mounting kit for the FRP canopies?? The holes in the front look like there should be a mount there or something.

Raptor3d, the stand offs for the canopy come with it. If you bought it used you may have to look around for them, But yes the front holes are for mounting standoffs.

BTS. my buddy is using one he had painted yellow. Is this the one that looks like a V2 bleach bottle?? It is very sturdy and light with really good finish and glass work.

This is the one that I am talking about
http://www.heliproz.com/prodinfo.asp?number=805690

Looks to me like it just takes the standard mounting hardware. Much better looking than the TT glass canopy?

Yeah I wasn't a big fan of the new TT FRP canopy but I received one in a deal here on RR and I'm starting to become a fan of it.

the mavrikk fiberglass are pretty nice. A lot of people didn't care for TT's design with the screws that hold it on. This canopy is for those people

I like the TT FRP 3D canopy cause you dont have to mess wiht the screw and clip in your landing gear anymore. I never really have to mess with taking the canopy off so the 4 screws dont bother me . I also changed them to Plastic capped thumbs screws so no tools needed.
