Swift with NEU1907/1.5Y - 5S and 6S by one heli
I have two batteries 5S-4350 and two batteries 6S-2300 A123. What choose a pinion to use 5S and 6S by one heli? 11 teeth is not enough for 5S but much for 6S. Somebody tried to fly on different batteries? My skill - beginning 3D. Very expensive throw out 5S and to fly only on 6S.

In a way it depends on motor and blades...you should be able to find a happy medium between both batteries.

Go to swift-tuning.com for a head speed calculator and plug in your specs. Another option is to have two different throtle/pitch for each battery.

I would not get rid of either battey...just tinker and you will find the solution.

Best of luck!

Thanks. I calculated speed on Swift-tuning and probably I shall put 11 teeth. I too thought about two different profile in radio and I shall try to reach good result.

Just a suggestion.. Running a 6s A123 pack is going to give you low runtimes.

The energy in the 5s pack is:

5 x 4350 = 21750

Now for your A123 pack..

6 x 2300 = 13800

that is 30% less energy in the pack.

Your headspeed shouldn't change much between these two packs. I can't remember the load voltage of lipo and A123, but the resting voltage will be about 21 Volts for both. A123 is supposed to drop lower than Lipo under load so that means, that your headspeed should be slower with the 6s A123 pack.

So in summary, you might not need to change your pinion, and if you do.. you will need a bigger one for the 6s A123 pack.

All things being equal, you will get around 30% less flight time as well.

I'm running a 10s A123 pack and getting 5-6 minutes. My swift is running pretty hot though so I'm guessing that if I slowed down my headspeed a bit I could get more but I like it the way its setup up.

I think your 6s A123 will fly with a slightly higher voltage than a 4s lipo but I could be wrong there I dont have the numbers in front of me.

Thanks for detailed answer. I knowing about small time of flight with A123, but hope on fast charge (I have Hyperion 1210 charger - 10A charge current!). I am beginning pilot, therefore for me more important time of flight than hot 3D. What should I make for increase time of flight? On my old motor Lightning 600 Plus and battery 5S-4350 by Hyperion I had only 6-7 minutes of flight. I bought more effective NEU1907/1.5Y and I hope increase time of flight. For increase time it is need speed of rotor more or less?
