Loose header cause motor to run lean?
I am running a SB-50 JK muffler on my EVO 50 w/ OS50 hyper. I flew it for the 1st flight, everything ok. I started the 2nd flight and motor is all of a sudden very lean sounding. I land it and motor is HOT!. Today I come to take the motor out and I notice that one of the bolts for the headder is missing. Would this cause the lean sounding running hot motor?

Thanks

definitly.... for me thats been the bigest nightmare. keeping the dang muffler tight.. once i strip the threads out i put nuts on theme with lock washers and they STILL come lose. and yes it get very hot when it happends and runs like $hitThe only time you can have too much fuel is when your on fire

I kind of figured that was the case. Now I am sure I don't have to pull the motor

Yes. Unless you're running a pump or a YS that uses crankcase pressure to pressurize the tank, you're depending solely upon the exhaust pressure to add a bit of positive pressure to the tank. You adjust the needles to get the motor to run right with pressure in the tank. As the header becomes loose, you lose the tank pressure, and suddenly your needle settings are too lean.-----
