I know this is the Raptor thread but I wanted people to know about the Audacity Pantera 50. I have owned three Raptor 50's and I have added to my collection the Pantera which is CCPM. It is like night and day. The Pantera is smoother and when you move the stick it just reacts. I have had to go slow with flying this bird because it reacts so much faster than the Raptor. With the Pantera there is no more push pull and all the hardware that goes along with it. The ship is clean, easy to build and they took the best of Raptor and threw in some things I have seen in Xcell heli's. They have bearing blocks (three Bearings larger than Raptor) for the main shaft so no more pulling the frames apart I love that!! It also has a 4mm flybar so there are many paddles you can use. You can take the engine out without taking the landing gear off which to me is a plus and they use a collet and tapered nut to dial in the fan where the Raptor is screwed on the crank with no way to dail it in. I have it set up with a OS50 Hyper, 401, 3 - DS8311 (elevator, pitch, aileron) Radix 600's and I love it.

I am not a rep or work for the company I just wanted to let people know what is out there in the same price range. The main reason I looked at in the first place was because of the Bearing Blocks, being able to take the engine out with out having to take off the landing gear and you can put a 60 size engine in it if you want. Check out the Audacity thread and on the website they have a white paper there that is interesting to read.

thanks for the report, but since this is the raptor section, people will probably not be kind.

bgjames yea I know I was expecting that but it is just info. I had the Raptor set up right I just like the feel of the Pantera better. Just my opinion nothing else. CCPM will have less play because it is direct connect to the swash with a single link no push pull. I am not trying to push anyone into it just let people know some new info.

The issue with Audacity is that no one near me stocks parts and the big players like Ricks and Heliproz don't carry parts either. The Pantera is probably a nice machine but I've never seen one. I won't even discuss my opinion of the Audacity Tiger.

This is a huge issue. If you can't get parts on a regular basis, then it is harder to convince people.

I've had the pantera before, but I'm gonna stick with the raptor. The pantera is quite a bit slower on the cyclics than the raptor. the raptor is also a little bit more forgiving on some things, like crappy setups. It's not ccpm, so it makes it more plug and play.OH! YOU FLY TOY HELICOPTERS?!

I almost always have to send away for parts on my raptors. There are two LHS in my area one does carry some parts the other does not carry anything for heli's. So sending away for parts is not a big deal for me. I am not trying to start anything here I was just giving an opinion. You are right about the Raptor being more forgiving on the setup but I find that I am becoming more accurate with my flying and I feel that having the heli be more responsive will make me a better Pilot. I am no 3D pilot but what I do I try to do well. Everyone who flies has their favorite and I was just giving some insite on what I have seen, thats all. Thanks for the responses.
