How does the KV rating effect batteries
Please bear in mind....I'm fairly new to electrics...but have a questions that I hope someone can answer.

For instance....I'm flying a Century Swift with the Lighting 600 outrunner on a Electron 55/70 ESC with 15C 6S1P 4000mah packs. I'm pulling 10 minute flights and am putting around 3000mah back into the packs when finished. If I were to move up to a motor with a higher KV rating, say the lighting 600 Plus, how would that effect my packs. Is it going increase the load and shorten flight times? Or is the motor just more efficient and it won't effect anything. I'm suspecting the first of my 2 thoughts is correct.

Lighting 600 motor - 715KV
Lightnig 600 Plus motor - 1110KV

Thanks in advance,

Neo

KV is how many RPM per volt inputted.

So going up with KV will raise your headspeed, and produce lower flighttimes.
But then of course you can go with the higher KV and gear down to get same headspeed and get same flighttimes.

Why different then?

Possibility for different voltage
Different motors like different RPM, they have sweetspots.

Which motor is the "best" is hard to know, but searching here on RR and other forums can give you a hint.

you'll have to regear the motor so you dont draw too much amperage.Stupidity can be cured. Ignorance is for life!
