I have heard the HDX motor runs hot but that setup may be pushing that Battery too hard. you may need to go to a 15-20C battery as the e-flite batt is only 10c....if you are pushing the battery like that it will not last very long....also make sure your gear mesh is set right and you are not running too much pitch these will cause excessive heatCompass helis Support Team

Define HOT.

I have two of these motors, one in the HBK2 and one in the belt tail CP Pro. The HBK2 uses a 18A ESC and 1350 mAh 15c batteries with a 10 tooth pinion and it usually measures around 115 to 118 degrees after a full battery pack. The CP pro runs generic 1000 mAh batteries of unknown C rating, 9 tooth pinion and Eflite ESC. Motor temps after a full battery are pretty much the same as HBK2, and the flights are generally about 2 minutes longer than on the HBK2. Battery temps are usually 115 to low 120's depending on ambient temps.

Do you have a temp gauge to get an accurate reading of exactly how hot the motor and battery are getting?
