jazz 80-8-16 + ubec = more safty ????
hello Guys
I need your help again, I'm waiting for my fisrt lipo 5s1p for my logo
i ll fly with 5s1p + 20th and at least 23th with my Tango 45-10.
I used to have receiver battery in 4 littles NIMH 2100mah and I want to switch with 2lipos and a ubec. jazz 80 bec have 1,5 v output??? and I do not found a ubec to get 1,5 v using 2s lipo.
can you help me to handle this !
in kontronik web site they say that it's possible to use, for more safty, a separate battery in conjonction with jazz 80 bec.
any idea ????

thank you foryor help

Hello,

The Jazz 80 regulator have a 5V BEC that will work just fine without any UBEC or rx battery

Untill about a month ago l would have agreed with you. My mate run his that way for a while but then one time the bec just shut down and left him with no control. Not what you want when you`re doing full pitch, backwards inverted circuits at 4 feet high. Now he`s running the Jazz bec and a separate bec in parallel.

thank you Tosh,
I 'm a little bit affraid by losing the control of my logo because of
BEC problem, so I'll run separate bec in parallel.
I really like Align UBEC

Hi Kelegba,

I guess you will always be safer with a backup BEC or battery in addition to the Jazz. I am not a electronic guru, but if you run two switched BEC's in parallell you might get som strange pulses on the power to your rx? You could copy Wheelie Kids setup as it seems to work, but its probably safer to run a small backup nicad in parralell to the Jazz BEC

Here is a video of my second flight with the 500. This is not a 3D setup, more like a sports flyer setup with a Orbit 25-10:

Personally I think the Western Robotics BEC is the best on the market now.

BTW Lorents nice video man, thanks for sharing.

to try to lose weight
