Nova Rossi 50 H spares
Hi
Does anyone know where I can get Nova Rossi heli motor spares in the UK. If not there anywhere will do. I am looking for the bits to hang a prop off my Nova Rossi 50 H to run it in. I originally bought it off Midland heli many moons ago and I have only just got round to fitting it in my Moskito. Midland no longer stock them so I am at a bit of a lose as to where to get the bits.

Thanks in advance

Try Vario UK (John Whites). Vario use Rossi engines as well as OS in their mechanics so at the very least John might be able to order a part in for you.

I don't know if this is the correct one but they do stock prop-drivers. See HERE. If not, there is a prop set linked from the 8.5cc motor set (works out as a 50 in my maths!) HERE

Hope that helps

Hi Coolrunnin
Unfortunately Rossi and NovaRossi are two different animals so I doubt if the Rossi bits would fit. But thanks for trying. I have sent NovaRossi and email but so far I have had no reply. Hence my Runryder plea.

No problem. Forgot about the high-performing 3 bolt header NovaRossi engines - not seen one for a long time!

It may be worth contacting John White anyway and getting the ID for the collets available for that prop driver. I suspect it is Vario who have made the prop driver, not Rossi, so it may be a generic fit and could work with your engine.

Hi Coolrunnin
Interesting idea I will try that if all other avenues prove a blank. I found out from the Novarossi website the UK distributer so hopefully they can help. I looked at Horizon Hobbies website( UK nova Rossi Distributer) and it only lists Car Novarossi engines. More likely they will shrug there shoulders and say " We dont deal directly with the public". Talk to one of our shops. And the answer from one of their shops will be " We only stock car motors mate" and so another saga of a dissatisfied customer begins.

Someone must stock these engines. In Italy for sure.

I am looking for the bits to hang a prop off my Nova Rossi 50 H to run it in.
Easier solution though.

Shove it in the heli and fly it. Its the best way to run in as running a prop doesnt in any way resemble heli loadings at all.

Best just to fly it slightly rich for a few flights.

Hi Stu
It may come to that but as I am a planker at heart I prefer to run an engine in on the bench so I get a feel for the mixture settings, running in an engine in flight has never felt right for me as I dont have full control of the situation. For me it is easy to know if an engine is rich or lean with a prop attached and to see/feel how it is behaving. It is alot harder if it is in a heli.
