I read that the new Cerebrus owned Chrysler is going to start importing Chinese cars, with the Dodge badging of course, to be sold in the sub $10k range. Remember the old Fieros? Tap one in the back and go boom!

I think you mean Ford Pinto. The Fiero was known for a leak that would cause an engine compartment fire. The Pintos gas tank would explode if it was hit from the rear."There is a fine line between cutting edge and bleeding edge.."

So it's our fault Helo?
Thankfully the Liberal consumer protection laws are still in place to catch these things.

Umm, yeah it is Sealer. If we would demand better quality products and to stop doing business with a country that relies on forced and slave labor we wouldnt be having this problem. But we would rather have plantiful and cheap crap to buy. Remember when the big thing was made in the USA? Well nows it how much have we cut prices this week. Well this is the result of that, so congratulations you got what you paid for.

And how is not using lead in paint a liberal consumer protection? That just makes sense, seeing as how it can kill you "There is a fine line between cutting edge and bleeding edge.."

i would like to know how anyone in there right mind would think that using lead in paint used for kids toys is a smart thing to do. espically knowing that they are going to be put into little mouths.
fisher price is just as much at fault for this as the chinese company. in the end its fisher prices responsibilty to insure a quality safe product is being put on the shelves for our little ones to enjoy. i have a 13 month old at home and to be honest we are now seriously considering what she plays with.

Helo, when you say "WE" do you mean the American People through our Government demanding these things or do you mean Joe American saying I'm not going to buy from China?
And how is not using lead in paint a liberal consumer protection? That just makes sense, seeing as how it can kill you
Helo, do you think it was some Conservative group lobbyed to ban lead in paint? Get real, look how the Con's are treating 9/11 workers.

I am a Conservative Sealer, so you can always take that to mean We the People unless specified otherwise. The government has no business interfering in the free market unless its to ban things that may be hazardous to the public health, like lead. We the people need to say enough is enough and stop buying it, because thats what its going to take for companies to quit doing it. As long as we sit back naively ignoring the problem it will not go away. Which could be said of many things."There is a fine line between cutting edge and bleeding edge.."

So the Gov't isn't we the people?

So the Gov't does have a business interfering in the "Free Market".
We the people need to say enough is enough and stop buying it, because thats what its going to take for companies to quit doing it.
We have said that, why do you think we have Liberal Consumer Safety Laws? The "We the People" that bought those toys should not have to test them for lead. With that in mind, how is your "Free Market" doing?

I have to puppy dogs, actually furry kids. They get treats everyday, at 5:30. Had some jerky treats from the Dollar Store. Dogs would not eat em. Looked on the package, Made In China. Checked em out, looks like cardboard with some flavor of somekind. Needless to say, in the trash they went.
Not buying anything from China, anymore, if it can be helped.
Even some of my ac parts are being made in China. Having capacitor failures, within 90 days of install. So, its across the board. Cheap price, and piss poor quality. Same with motors, made in Thailand. Have had some same day failures. Especially on blower motors.
Honey, where's the check book, it's Fedex again
