Bling is not necessarily a good thing on your first heli. One the quality of the 600N will fly great out of the box. When you crash ( notice I didn't say "if you crash" ) the cost will be much more reasonable for the stock parts.

GV-1
It is interesting that the GV-1 is not mentioned so far. I love it, actually I have two, but have not tried the others. Maybe those that have tried more than one brand can share the facts that lead to their conclusion as to their favorite.

I've tired MutiGov, RevMax and the GV1.

BY far my favorite is the Futaba GV-1.

1) GV-1 (All in 1 box, Clean Install, Fast enough to keep up with the rest)
2) MutiGov (always gota carry the Programmer)
3) RevMax (**** to program, major PITA)

For what its worth Secret Menus

I remember way back when I fooled with it, but problably not a good enough pilot to notice a difference, even thought I said I did. I would be interested to see NOW if I could feel a difference.

I have never used a GV-1 but I HAVE tached it for friends. It simply cannot hold a constant headspeed through hard pitch pumping maneuvers. It can vary as much 2-300 RPM. It must have a much slower framerate than modern govs to not be able to do what it's told. Plus I simply don't have any spare room on my ships for a GV-1 nor do I want to spend that much for what I can get much cheaper in another brand...

Multigov
I just love the bloody thing, plug in your screen, set the limits, set your headspeed, digital servo on or off, gear ratio, and thats pretty much it. I highly believe in customer support in this hobby, and without it, we may or may not be where we are today, and thats one thing aerospire has is customer support. The governor its self rocks, very agressive(responding to boggin ect). Best thing, NO TACH!

RevMax

Its a good governor, after the hour worth of programming the thing, taching the helicopter, it performs very well. I didnt get to use it much, about 1 or 2 weekends. But its a good governor from what I threw at it

ATG
I had 2 of these things, 1 in my raptor 90, which worked great no overspeeding no nothing. But the one in my raptor 50, WHOAA nelly overspeed city. The gear ratios are not very acurate, and its kinda confusing to program the first time(I posted 2 threads on how wo program this))

Gv-1
For being 10 or so years old, yea its a good governor, very user friendly, also requires no tach. But at the price you pay, and how fragile it is(the screen in a crash, had one go out), and once the screen goes out, its expensive to fix, about $40 I recall. That and its plain old slow, bogs horrible.

I am no pro so this is only coming from someone who enjoys flying and likes to use good gear...

I've only personally used the TJPro and RevMax. Both awesome but the Pro is better when using a super servo with it. They are both a royal PITA to program but once done and tach'd they just work. They are tiny, light and cheap - good gov's.

I have played with other gov's on other machines but not enough to offer an opinion (except the GV-1). However, I will be running MultiGov's on my 600N's so I can give a report on those once I have setup and flown them...
