i did my first real flight!!
I was getting really good at hovering, i got the nose-in flying pretty good still mess up here and there (but good enough to recover it back). i took it up about 50-70 feet did a little flying came right back down landed perfectly.i was proud of myself. it really wasn't as hard as i expected, i have many hours on sim, it really helps.

I haven't ever had my heli more than 15' in the air 5' in my dining room . Thats the real challenge Oh yeah and when you fly from one room to another in your house landing from dining room table to living room coffee table what a rush. Anyway congrats on getting hooked on that heli crack. And remember you cant crash that high up. And what fun would that be.No Really I am the club President!!!

Looking at the pictures in your gallery, I like the careful selection of upgrade parts on your heli - looks like it should fly well.

A couple of things:
1. when I scuff the covering on the blades, I now recover them with monokote
2. do you find reversing the bell mixer arm improves the responsiveness of the BCPP?

Awesome!!!
Way to go. It feels so good to see your own heli up there in the sky. I felt the same way about fast forward flight. I waited about 4 months to get out and fly fast forward. Just a whole different concept actually seeing that think wizzing along... What is your next goal????

For each their own but my method if flying inverted is to wait! I have been flying inverted in my G3.5 sim for 3 months now. I am just ready to dive into it hard now on my BCPP. I find a significant difference going from sim to the real thing on every trick or move. I have the stick orientation down but have to pick up the touch on the heli itself.

Second
I did learn to fly backward first too. (3 weeks on the sim)I believe this is important. Backwards funnels, figure eights etc. I had troubles exiting pirouettes and new I had to get the basics down to catch failed attempts at inverted!
Good luck
Keep us posted.

Many people rush into inverted without preparing for it. Master the flyout at high altitude. It prepares you for the safe height needed to flip. Remember that with these helis, you are not sure it will be oriented the way you want to inverted. You must be prepared for whatever position that may take. 20 meters is not even close to being safe first time around. Prepare for it.

There are so much more to learn in upright flight. And they are not easy. Upright flight is not just about hovering in all orientations. You can clean up forward and backwards flights. Do big graceful circuits. So much more that are impressive.
