Chris Harmon laying down the smack with his new Raptor 90
Hello All

We told him to take it easy since he just got this machine but when you see the vid you'll see he didnt listen to us very well

http://www.theastonisher.com/ChrisHarmon/rap90.wmv

It's hard to believe that he doesnt have a sponsor like Align, or TT considing how good he actually is....

Anyways, enjoy the vid.

Hello

He is blessed with all the pilot skillz in the world and he should have been at the Masters and XFC this year; I know he would have places very well.

He also isnt just a pilot, he knows how setup a heli and can identify design mistakes and fix them pretty quickly. Im sure he will have the Gaui Hurricane's worked out in no time.

Chris' only issue is dealing with getting the money together to get to the events. Lucally for him John at Ready Heli picked him up as their primary pilot and from what I can see and hear they are treating him well...he deserves it and they definitally have a fantastic pilot to promote their business.

He defintally likes the Raptor 90(HINT HINT). And so you know that engine was actually running hot, he would like to buy a new LS YS91 but $$ is an issue. He also needs a new DX7(actually a 9303 2.4) his gimbles are horrbly worn out...he is probably the only person that I know of that could fly with gimbles as worn out as his.

Keep in mind that he pays for everything himself, minus the Hurricanes from RH, but flys his helis like he's sponsored.

All I can say is look forward to seeing him at many future events as a RH pilot and hopefully he picks up a few other sponsors along the way.

There are actually a few more vids from that day. I believe he has a Gaui vid and he also flew the piss out of his friends TREX V1 SE with woodies.

Here is the TREX vid I dont quite know where the Gaui vid is but Im sure it will be up on the RH site.

here is an older one (quick one, too)
of him flying an Avant. http://www.runryder.com/gallery/28701/continuous.zip
He has a few trex videos in his gallery also.

I have one on my other computer of Chris flying some on G3 that I had recorded.

I havent ever seen Chris fly in person, but numerous times on G3.
The first time i'd "met" him, Switch26 was in the room also.

I was buzzin around, and Switch was like, "Dan, sit that thing down and watch Chris fly. This guy is good"
I proceded to be amazed.

He was doing some crazy piro funnels, all kinds of other crazy piro stuff. I don't think there was 2 seconds where Chris wasnt doing something with a piro in it. It was goos stuff. But thats all on the sim though. This was all about a year ago.

I made it a point to remember the name Chris Harmon. I knew, that even if he wasnt big-name THEN, that he would be.

A lot of guys say Szabo is responsible for getting them in this hobby, some guys might say Curtis.
I still always say Chris Harmon. My internet hero.

Just a heads up. TT wont go after a pilot. If hes interested in being rep he can contact the right person and chat about it. They do not actively pursue pilots.

That was a sarcastic comment directed at those who say the Raptors don't fly well. I'm a proud owner of a Raptor 90SE and they are one of the best flying machines out there...

Thanks, I appreciate all the positive feedback. Alan Szabo is my favorite pilot too. It's really hard to live up to Alans level of flying and I still have work to do.

If you guys were wondering about the no trespassing sign, the ground was so wet we couldn't pull up anywhere else

Also wanted to comment on Raptors being inferior to some of the newer machines. I think each heli has advantages over others but the Raptors to Me seem to have the highest quality control, solid feel in the air and an airframe thats been refined over the years to handle hard 3D like Alan Szabo put it through.

That said, It's a heavy bird so I run the plastic R90 STD with CNC head, grips, mixing levers, flybar cage, washout arms and stainless tail hub. I cut down the motor mount and horizontal fin (team Raptor mods). Dampers are stock reds with 2 shims for now.
