There is a heap of us over here running the Kero start on both jets and helis with very good results using 2s lipos for the ECU pack. One friend of mine was using a 3s lipo for his ECU pack and had a couple of the plugs fail but has since changed to a 2s lipo and all seems good.

I had alot of starts on mine in my heli somewhere between 50 and 100 and never had a problem. The plug is still here but the heli isn't so I will hope to get even more starts out of it when my heli gets going again.

i was having a problem but that was not battery related.

I have found though the Kero start system does take alot out of the NICAD, i have a 2400, and i can only get 2 flights out of it.

You cannot mess around with the voltage as it is set, if you are having trouble with it starting then lower the fuel pump start voltage. Mine is .150, ( to get into this menu hold down change value on GSU and switch on) it will then come up with Acceler=1, you can then adjust the start voltage.

Make sure the fuel lines are not connected to the turbine when you do this or you may let neat fuel into the turbine chamber.

If you get alot of smoke come out of the exhaust at the ignition stage then there is too much fuel going in and plug is flooded with too much fuel to ignite, all you do is reduce the pump start voltage.

Out of the two methods i prefer GAS, i know it is more hassle in winter etc, but i always get a start with gas.

I received the first kero start plug in the USA. It has been trouble free- 100% perfect since I've had it. I have found it to be a very nice setup and very convenient. Do you have one Ron or are you thinking of getting one?
