HOW ACCURATE ARE LI-PO "C" RATING
To test, we can take our 3S/2200mAh/25C as an example. In theory, in a 3S/2200mAh/25C, it is capable of 55A(25 * 2200/1000) continuous. To see if our 3S is a true 25C, if you can pull out close to 2200mAh with 55A discharge, then this battery has a true 25C.

Many batteries might claim that they have 25C and 55A continuous for a similar pack, but you might pull out more than 2200mAh with 55A continuous. This is because they cannot make 25C battery but they can probably make 55A continuous, so they put in more capacity to make up their C rating in their packs.

Apparently, the 55A continuous from a 25C is definitely different from one with lower than 25C.

? and...
A lot of the no name brands claim 25c or even 15c but are more like 10-12c.
The 2 brands that have been proven time and time again to be more or less accurate on their "c" rating claims are thunder power and flightpower. i own packs from both and do not hesitate a second about running the packs at there "c" rating. Although i dont have many helis that hover at 55amps or more, but regardless.

You won't get near 2200mah with 55A continuous. The capacity you get drops significantly as you increase current. Capacity is rated using a .5C discharge (industry standard).

Some vendors definitely 'pad' their cells with excess capacity to come closer to the 20+C rating they claim. Size and weight often show it dramatically.

There are literally hundreds and hundreds of cells graphed in the battery vault at rcgroups. The posers show up instantly.

The other thing to consider is what the impact on cycle life is at 25C continuous. That is a 2.4 minute burst if it could deliver capacity. Maybe we get 2 minutes if lucky. If we go 80% we are down to 1.6 minutes for the flight. Even the pylon guys don't drain em much faster than that.

The NeuEnergy cells deliver well, a few of the popular European brands do great. TP and FP are excellent. Most don't do well when pushed to their listed capacity. Even if they survive they quickly start dying off.

MOST Li-po MATERIAL VARIES VERY LITTLE.
MORE MATERIAL YOU PAY FOR THE BETTER DICHARGE YOU HAVE...

Li-PO productions with both positive & negative material in many cases bought from different factories...with the seperation membrane coming from Japan. This material purchased correctly is sold by weight & sold IN processed material or completed cells depending on the INDIVIDUALS production process.

Heavier packs equal greater amp flow...

How many ep nutz ever really check by formula the C rating...
