Leadlag,

I have looked at putting the 3D canopy on the sport I felt that it did not fit quite right for my tastes.

compared to the original canopy I feel i get more forward speed. Reverse i don't see any difference since i go slow on reverse flights. I also feel that the heli looks bigger in the air.

Note: the new canopy is very light. I was surprise on the quality. I DID NOT PAINT THE WHITE PART OF THE CANOPY. it came nice and smooth

erl919, tastes great, less filling. That canopy is like a Light commercial, looks really nice, but you didn't go and add a bunch of unnecessary weight.

I'm getting so used to seeing the Knight undercarriage installed backwards it's beginning to look normal!

I'm sure going to be a lot happier when these new lids are available to all who want one (or more)!

Weight of New Canopy
Got a new unpainted Knight canopy in Friday. The Good: it's VERY light weight, this one is at 99.58 grams. It's the lightest stock canopy for a 3D, about an ounce less than a plastic cut down version.

The not so good: has a middle seam running the whole length in the gel coat. The muffler indent is about an inch longer than my Funtech pipe, which is a fairly long pipe.

The subjective: appearance is such a personal thing, your mileage will most likely vary, but the styling still doesn't do it for me.

The sad: canopy was damaged in shipment, and I will be sending it back. I was looking forward to painting up this new cover. I'll be waiting longer still.

The center seam was on my preproduction 3D canopy as well as on the production version too. Too add strength to the center seam, I add a 1" wide strip of fiberglass cloth along the entire center seam from the inside.

I have something in the "works" right now and I will post some more info when it is available.
