tail spins hard right!
No matter what I do I can't stop the tail from spinning to the right. I have reversed both the servo and the gyro and still it spins to the right. When I push the stick right I am only getting minimal movement on the pitch slider. Please help because I'm baffled!

Have you tried and directly hooked the servo to the RX for testing?
Be sure it will rotate compleatly and in the correct direction. Next would be ad the gyro and check for correct direction and set the limits. Check the belt tention etc.

Ok, but is it going the correct direction and has full throw? left stick leading edge goes right and right stick leading edge goes left.
Also, when looking at the tail rotor from the right side, does it rotate counterclockwise?

Trex TR goes counter clockwise, looking at the right side of the heli with the nose to your right, tail to your left.

The leading edge of the tail rotor blade that's going downward is pointing down, the leading edge of the tail rotor blade that's going upward is up. The pitch control links for the TR blades go on the LEADING edge of the blade.

Make sure you have that mechanical stuff correct before you go further.

If the servo has full travel without the gyro in place (servo directly plugged into the RX), but has limited travel when the gyro is in the loop, it would seem that the gyro has a travel limit adjustment (as does the GY401) that is turned way down. Fix that by increasing the travel limit on the gyro body until you get full throw without binding the mechanics at either endpoint.

With the proper mechanical setup, the TR servo must PULL the TR pushrod forward (toward the nose of the heli) for a RIGHT rudder command. It it pushes to the tail instead of pulling toward the nose, REVERSE the TX rudder channel control movement.

Pick up the heli and turn the nose to the LEFT while watching the TR servo. As you turn the nose of the heli to the LEFT, the gyro must command the servo to PULL the TR pushrod forward (to add in RIGHT rudder correction). If the gyro tells the servo to push toward the tail, then REVERSE the GYRO direction at the gyro.

Make sure you have NO binding ANYWHERE in the TR control movement.

I finally noticed that the t/r servo had pushed aft on the tail boom after my last crash. Moved it forward 1/16th of an inch and that put me back in the ballpark. Trimmed everything back to my original settings and its good to go! Thanks everyone for your help, especially you TomRex!!!“The helicopter is evidence of how man's imagination can be given physical form.”
