OK I found a JR site with it at 72 oz/in Can anyone confirm? What is it?
The box of the servo I have states clearly 3.5 kg/cm. 0.05S/60
35x21x40.5mm/59g
The servo on the top says

JR Servo
DS8900G
FET.Digital
Made in Japan

Confused. someone has screwed up somewhere or are the figures being manipulated over a smaller arc to increase the torque rating or something.....

mac-man can you shed any light on this for me

Cheers
Glenn

Ok cheers Mac-man. There is a few sites in the USA so far I have found that are touting this servo as being 72 oz/in which is OTT for a tail anyway so it's not an issue but for the USA guys this servo appears to be a 49oz/in servo as far as the japanese are concerned. The servo coming with this combo is the DS8900G. this is the same servo I am holding in my hand right now and it states 3.5 KG/CM which is not 72 oz/in. Even jrradios.com is stating 72 oz/in. Maybe thats over 45 degrees or something. It's slightly more torque than the 611's 9256 and faster. Non metal geraed which makes it smoother. I can feel only the most minimal gear backlash....almost undetectable. The 9256 servo I have in my other hand also has very very minimal backlash. The servo doesn't rotate as smoothly as the 8900 probably due to the metal gears. The metal gears may wear quicker but will be stronger in a crash. Either way it's a cheap plastic gear or gears to replace on either servo.

Well, jrradios is a subsite of Horizon, so if HH get it wrong then the same data will appear on jrradios.

It bugs the hell out of me when people think that jrradios is the actual JR Propo website.

Oh well, nothing I can do about it so I'll just have to learn to stop beating my head against a brick wall !!

Its on a par with cybersquatting !

I have emailed horizon to correct it.
Also on the jr propo thing. Why do they make it so hard to find? I typed in JR and got japan railroads and all sorts of other stuff. I typed in all other clues except "propo" and couldn't find their actual website.
I'll try that now. Futaba is easy to find.
I see that jrradios is a usa based company and not the manufacturer. I was kinda meaning that for the us based guys

Thanks again for your help.
Cheers
Glenn

P.S (bugs me when places incorrectly advertise product.....especially BIG numbers when us modellers all like BIG numbers...LOL)

OK now I got it.

The Japan site is useless to any non Japanese speaker.
Horizons do the JR stuff in the USA (distributors)
Macgregor do it in Britian.

Framerates
Anybody tried combinations of G770T with Futaba 9254 and/or GY502/401 with 8900G ? For all Servo/Gyro combinations it says High Framerate (or DS mode), but is the framerate of all above products the same and can they be inter-exchanged without problems ?

Thanks a lot,

I am currently using JR770t gyro and futaba 9254 servo, the combination works extremely well and so far I have not found a way to make the tail break away from wherever I put it. I even reduced the headspeed down to somewhere around 1400 which of course reduces the tail rotor speed considerably, even then I could manage sideways loops and full speed sideways flight in to wind without the tail giving up.

The performance is just unbelievable in every way and so easy to set up.

Yeah sorry dude. It was unnecessary. And it was unbalanced to have just JR represented in the photo so I corrected it.

Horizon is showing these in stock now, hopefully we can get some more reports soon.I give up on Loctite, nothing lasts long enough to vibrate loose anymore.

Yep, I have them in both of my N9's and they are going great. Even after flying 601's and 611's for years the thing that I noticed right away was the consistency of the piro. Anybody else notice this? Also have not had the tail do anything bad at all. Love it for sure.

G770 HELP!!!!
So the gyro came in today, read the manual, and i'm about the strap the sucker on. The manual specifies that "High Frame Rate" for only JR digital servos or JR gyro exclusive servos. So if i'm using the Futaba S9254 servo for the tail what setting should I set it to?

What are you guys doing? Recommendations?

AVAILIBLE AT RICKS!!
Ok guys, Horizon has the gyro and servo in stock (not the combo), but Ronlund has the combo for 259.99 USD. I'm wondering if Horizon forgot to update their website?

uhhh, made one of the sets (770/8900) into a Lepton, first flight today ... beginning with initial settings felt very agressive stops and very fast piro, holy ! Had to tune down with a lot of expo and D/R - but now - very nice !

What settings you are using for the HH gain in the flight modes ?
