Don't get me wrong I appreciate all the Rep/sponsored Mikado pilot feedback but cost to produce a part is the same for Mikado if its the Alum mount for the L10 or the 5003d. The Alum mount for the 5003d is half the size as the L10 but twice the cost. Its nothing more than being able to charge more for something because of the high demand.

Oh I will buy it either way.

I agree with you I'll buy it anyways but It doesn't make sense to make a part half the size and sell it twice the price , the point now is not if the plastic is up to the job is to supply the metal one at a reasonable price.

That's like saying the new logo should sell for the same price as the old one.

Do you know of ANY company who does that? No. Now what is to complain about? Prices are usually a bit high when parts first come out. In the case of the part in reference, it hasn't even been released yet!(highest possible demand)

The new 450SEV2's don't go at the same price as the old ones either, yet they use mostly the same parts besides the new head.

You know the difference.. and you get what you pay for
The aluminum mount isn't a cheap pot metal production. It is CNC.

Actually if you look at what your getting youll notice that Align is actually really good about keeping prices consistant.

The V2 comes with a lot of stuff for the price. If you took all of the extras out the prices is very close.

Mikado is defintally doing the whole supply and demand thing. If you dont like it then dont buy it The Logo 10 3D is probably every bit as good in the air as the 500 so get the 3D's while they are cheap Seriously what actually changed minuse the frame, gear/pinon, tail drive, an a few other minor pieces... The part that give the heli its unique feel has stayed the same...the head.

Yeah...and/or the US distributor. Like I said, they charge it "because they can". You can only charge what customers are willing to pay. Steve Neu has made a statement as to something similar happening with his motors. He says the distributor and/or stores are playing the pricing game charging more than he recommends because his motors a in demand....again, because they can.

I don't have one of these mounts in my hand but they look very simple to machine compared to other parts that are supplied in al vs plastic. I imagine that the after market mounts will be available very shortly at a lower price. (let us pray....)

I don't think it's a US distributor thing as we are in the same situation in the UK at the moment regarding awaiting parts & pricing. One strong factor at the moment is that the Logo is obviously made by a German company and the dollar is particularly weak against the Euro and Pound at the moment, this has got to affect prices.Steve -Trex 700N, Trex 600N, Raptor 550E, 450SE, Mini Titan, Logo 5003D, Beam E4

I'm not complaining I will buy all of Mikado stuff. I'm a fan and will pay extra now and still enjoy it.

In the end its still cheaper for higher quality Mikado stuff then any Century crap.

Does any of the retailers have this part in stock?
I think we should all wait until they are in stock to actually see how much they cost

Well my Logo 500 3D just went in due to the main gear srtipping - I did everything on this post during the build to make sure it was 100% but seem it wasn't enough

I'm going to shelve this heli till I can get the upgraded motor mount or gears.

That's a real bummer, and it makes me a little concerned to fly my 500 3D on the mod.7 gears. Did it strip from the motor moving?

edit: whoops, meant to say mod.5 not mod.7 gears .

Yep, I am really hacked off with it - I spent ages getting it perfect and did all the suggested things on this post. I'm running a Jeti 77 heli ESC which has a nice slow spool up too.

I am very tempted to throw in the towel with the heli, I paid a german price for chinese quality and looking at the cost of repair I don't reckon its worth it.

ps. mod .5 is stock 500 gear

pps. does anyone know if a Logo 14 gear will fit?
