rudder offset???
does anyone use thier rudder offsets by chance? i have a hawk pro with an os .37 and gy240. i just added the carbon tail control rod, turned off the avcs on the gyro to get center again and now on lift off, the tail wants to jerk to the right and then to the left when i get off the throttle... ive never used a rudder offset and was just curious as to if anyone out there used it and what the helpfullness of it was... thanks...

Heading hold gyros dont need REVO mixing, which is what you're thinking, that adds or removes tail rotor as you work the collective stick.Andy

I always mechanically trim my variable pitch tail rotors to an offset pitch that holds the tail still at neutral input in rate mode myself - Heading-Hold mode will perform it's own compensation electronically - So if you never trimmed in rate mode then be careful if you switch from HH to Rate in flight as it might rotate on you

But it does sound like you were experiencing the lack of Revo mix while in Rate mode and the changing torque with throttle/pitch changes was swinging the tail around on you - HH mode of course self-compensates for this also without the need for Revo

If you want to setup some Revo for use in Rate mode then it's probably best to assign the mix to your gyro mode switch so that Revo is on in Rate mode and off in HH mode
