Bad Frequency
I have a Futaba 9C with the ch46 that today that caused me to loose control of a Evo90 and almost lost my Swift with a PCM receiver. It seems like more often than not I get lockout out or glitches. Some days not a worry.
Is 46 in a bad range or something?

I also have run channel 46 before without problems, It sounds like either local interference or a problem with your tx. Does your radio range check ok? Have you checked for sources of noise on your helis, bad bearings. metal to metal noise, etc. Just because it is happening on two different birds does not mean you dont have radio noise on both helicopters. If every thing else checks out ok, I would change crystals to another freq.

It could be a bad transmitter or a local problem. By me your not allowed to use channel 20 because of interference issues. If it happens with both machines it's more than likely one of those two problems.

I noticed you guys said that you used to use ch46.
I also remember when I would fly in a local dome in the winter that I had lots of glitches but I wrote that off as bouncing signals in an enclosed place. Another time I tried to use one of those whip duck antenna but it was worse than ever with that.
How can the Radio be bad? I could see the module as the problem possibly. I will try a friends synthesized module on ch46 with a expendable foamy plane and see if I get any more lockouts and glitches.

The channels we use for RC are not solely for RC. Interspersed with the channels are local pagers, RF modems, and other industrial control radios. Also in the channels we use are some of the broadcast television stations.

If you seem to be having trouble with a particular frequency, as some others have stated, you need to move AWAY from that channel.

Not all channels are usable in all areas due to the local mix of other stuff out there in the RF spectrum.

If local interference is a problem on CH 46 where you fly, even your friend's synthesized system should not be immune to hits.

Does anyone ELSE in your area fly on 46, or did they have trouble and move to a different channel?

46 MAY simply be a channel people stay away from in your area. And when people tell you the transmitter might be sick, well, it might be. I doubt it, but it's another one of those things on the checklist that can cause problems.

Check you RX battery & regulator. I experience lock out with
my Tx. (DX7) lost a heli also,I was ready to pack & send the
unit back to Spektrum,A hely Guru showed up plus follow ups
on RR posts,I came to the conclusion that it was a Regulator
battery issue.Got me a new reg, problems went away...

My 2 cents
