Tripod Mount for a Wonderpole
Anyone uses a tripod mount that fits the 2 inches diameter base of a wonderpole? If yes, can you let me the URL where I can buy the mount. I find the base mount offered by the wonderpole is not portable enough. A tripod mount would be the way to go.

There is actually a picture in askmanap site under pole camera:

http://www.askmanap.com/polecam.html

I am trying to contact Askman and see if he has the information. Also not that that guy in the picture has some weights on the tripod base .. not sure how much weight is required to secure the pole.

Rudy,
Take a run over to your local guitar center and have a look at speaker and lighting tripods. I'm sure you can adapt something from there.

That tripod is mine. I bought a pair of steel speaker stands on eBay for $30 (!) but the internal diameter is only about 34mm, which is a lot less than 2".

I added the weights because the base of the tripod is quite narrow, only about 1 metre between the feet. I used three "drysacs" bought from a camping store and filled with sand, and their combined weight is 20kgs. The extra stability they provide is significant. You could also use waterbags instead, and fill them on site if convenient.
