Prices to complete a Gas Heli Kit?
Hello,
I was wondering what type of prices did anyone come up with when getting a 50 class Gas Heli RTF? Not counting the heli kit. Electronics, motor and all? Trying to see if I should just buy a kit and start building myself or buy someone elses RTF .50 gasser.

Thanks.

By the time you buy a good heli kit, OS Hyper 50 engine, Futaba GY401/9254, muffler, a decent heli tx and rx, good servos, support equipment and a good simulator so you don't crash the heli on the first time out - plan on between $1500 to $2000 initial cost.

Also, "gassers" are refered to as the helicopters that use the Zenoah 23cc and up size gasoline engines. The 50 size helicopters aren't considered "gassers" since they run on nitro heli fuel.

Sorry I should have known that. I currently fly a 450 class electric. I wanted to move up in size and nitro. Its looking like going RTF that someone is selling is a better deal. I just wanted to see what type of cost I would be running into if I built myself.
Thanks...

many web sites have complete packages RTF with electronics for comparison...go to the site of the model that is being sold to you and compare to a new one...average resale value for the majority of used heli parts range in the 50 cents to the dollar ratio...this is not etched in concrete anywhere so take with a grain of salt.~~Enjoying the hobby one flight at a time~~

Thanks Pistol..... That is a good gauge to follow. I have been looking at complete kits and they are in the 1k range. Just didnt know if there was a cheaper route since you are going to be spending after every crash so I figured I would try to get the best deal possable in the beggining and save $ for the repairs.
