You got me there...
Toyotas/Lexus vehicles cost more than the average car
Going just off their respective websites...
2008 Ford Taurus Limited...$28,965
2007 Toyota Camry XLE V6...$28,754
2008 Chevy Impala LTZ......28,415

These are all equipped. Base price on Camry is almost $2000 less than both...

People think Toyotas are so much more expensive because most people buy used cars. Toyotas hold their value better and longer than almost every car on the road, which results in a 2 year old Camry for $17000, where the 2 year old Impala is worth $10000. Best example I saw recently, 3 year old Corvette with 26000 miles, asking $24000. Sold new for $43000. 3 year old 4Runner with 40000 miles, asking $26000, sold new for $34000. Great job Chevy, way to build a quality product...

Same deal with Honda, and one of the reasons I'm on my 4th Civic. Not to mention the fact that they build a great, reliable car.

Thats because the 98 S10 has been broken down since 99...

Just kidding, my grandfather only drove Chevy for 50 years. Usually put about 200000 miles on his motors. Any car will last if you treat it well, and any car will break down, since it is a mechanical thing. I buy Cars based on one thing...style. I just happen to like the way the new Toyota lineup looks. Toyota has a good rep because of their engineering practices, so does Honda, BMW, and Mercedes, etc. I personally just don't care for the look of Hondas, and I can't afford to put 3 or 4 German cars in the driveway. Sooo, Toyota gets my money. The fact that my dealership treats me like a king seals the deal.
