People are morons or what?
I'm a bodyshop manager at a GM dealer
I had a Pontiac Torrent leaving after rear end damage, nothing major rear bumper cover and impact absrober, not a dent in the re-bar. He's bumper cover was broken into a million pieces. We replaced it, painted it, put it on awah he goes.... YEAH RIGHT. he says I'm ripping him and the ins. co off and just repaired his bumper
He "measured the waves in the paint" whatever that means....He's gonna sue me
How do you measure waves in the paint?????
I wonder how much time he's got on his hands.......
Sorry guys for sharing this.... Just monday venting.

LOL! Actually thanks for sharing, I love hearing stupid consumer stories. I couldnt tell you how many times working in automotive that we would work on someone brakes and they would come back a few days later complaining that we broke their AC. Or changed their oil and their belt broke, had one guy accuse us of slitting it just so we would have to replace it. Car had close to 100K miles and looked like it was the original belt."There is a fine line between cutting edge and bleeding edge.."

I saw the perfect shirt someone was wearing on TV the other night.
It read....I'm Mean Because You're Stupid!
That would be a perfect uniform shirt for people that work in the service departments that have to put up with the aforementioned idiots!

Here's my moron story:
This guy buys a brand new Isuzu tilt cab med duty truck. He brought it back 2 days later because he wanted the lug nuts/studs on the right side of the truck to match the color of the ones on the left side. One side is plated silver and the other is slightly yellowed to differentiate right turn threads and left turn threads. I tried to explain this to him, he still wanted them changed out!

People are stupid. That is why I opened my own aircraft shop. I got tired of dealing with stupid customers and an even dumber boss!

A few years ago, a customer asked me to do a pre-purchase inspection on a Cessna 172XP that he wanted to purchase. I did the inspection, provided him with a 76 item list of un-airworthy items. I told him that the airplane was dangerous and should not be flown. He used my list to re-negotiate the price of the airplane. My inspection saved him $7000.00 off of the price he was going to pay for the plane. He never paid for my inspection (claiming that it was done improperly, that the plane was not airworthy). I put a lien on his plane. He turned around and sued me for the amount of the lien...

He sued my company in the wrong county. We went to small claims court, the magistrate decided to hear the case. Then, the magistrate decided that he should turn it over to the proper county.

I was SSooooo pissed. Already having wasted a full day at the wrong court, I decided to counter sue in municpal court. Screw it! If this bum is going to try to give me the run around, I'm gonna make him pay

When our new court date arrived, the guy called me from another airport and asked me to give him a ride to court. I was speachless! I just hung up on him. The trial took about 2 hours and I won. That stupid SOB could have saved himself a couple of days time and several thousand dollars. It felt good to run him through the wringer

Zozie,
Having been in aviation for 12 years now, I am still surprised at how stupid most pilots are. Most of them don't even know what to look for on a Pre-Flight! Sure, they walk around the plane, wiggle the controls and strain the fuel... But, they have never been taught, or bothered to ask "On a Pre-flight, What should I look out for?"

Ignorance is bliss. If you don't know it might kill you.... You won't worry about it

Do yourself a favor. Go talk to the mechanics and ask them to point out what you should look for during your pre-flight. Chances are, they will be happy to give you some pointers. It could save your life and the lives of your passengers.
We have a flight school with 17 airplanes at our airport. I have a tough time dealing with the fact that the instructors don't know what to look for on their pre-flights. If they don't know, than they sure aren't showing their students what to look for. Always remember that the most dangerous time to fly an aircraft is right after maintencance was done. After a mechanic returns an Acft. to service, ALWAYS ALWAYS do an extra thorough pre-flight. They may have missed screwing down a panel, forgot to install a cotter pin, didn't torque a bolt... There is a lot to do. It is easy to forget something. We are all human and make mistakes. It is YOUR job to make sure the Acft. isn't flown with a "mistake".
I always thought people in Aviation were smart
The flight school here has a motto: "If you can drive a car, we can teach you to fly an airplane" Sad thing is.... For the most part, it is true!

I know what you mean.... thanx for the advise. I remember a few years back when I took an intro in a C172, the left tire on a spot was so worn that the wire was showing thru. Only on one spot tho and the reason I noticed is because in flight as I was looking out, that part was facing up Someone probably locked it up during landing... Didn't care too much about it but it would have been a bad conclusion to an intro if it blew up on touchdownNo honey I got that used.... MAAC#73745

I have a relative who works at a Lexus dealer...these people pay 80K for a car and then expect everything else to be free when they go in for service. and they get it because they are excellent whiners...everything from free oil changes to car washes to engine rebuilds.

These people don't have a clue how to change a light bulb. If a blinker bulb goes out, they bring the car in and demand a loaner. They get it.

I have seen the guy tear the entire interior of a brand new car apart looking for a squeak. He has to find the squeak, eliminate it, put the entire interior of the car back together and then drive it for a week to make sure it doesnt come back.

They have done entire engine rebuilds because the owner tried to do an oil change himself and forgot to put the new oil in. He then has the car towed to the dealer and blames them and gets a new engine.

Unbelievable...

But I guess it is one reason why Toyota/Lexus is outselling everyone, their customer is king...
