Phoenix - can you try this?
Guys, am I going mad? Can you try this and let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

Take any of the performance type helicopters such as the Raptor 3D or Raptor Sport, adjust the maximum and minimum pitch settings within Phoenix to say +10/-10 or +11/-11, ensure you have a full linear 0,25,50,75,100 pitch curve set in your transmitter, and governor mode selected in Phoenix.

Then perform a full power vertical climbout (have data display on) and note the maximum velocity - mine was about 17-18m/s. Then do a vertical full power descent and note the maximum velocity - mine was about 10m/s.

Surely the descent speed should be higher than the climbout speed due to gravity assisting the descent?

Am I doing something wrong?

Raptor 50 3D with pitch @ -10 - 0 - 10 climbs at 14 m/s and drops at 23 m/s.

Are you sure you have power on the way down (you are using idle-up)

Synergy,

Thanks for the reply I will check, knowing that yours appears to be fine there must be something screwy with my setup - yes I was in idle-up but let me check all my settings.

You can go a step farther in this experiment, by charting the vertical climb-out and power descent while inverted as well and noting the changes. I don't fly inverted well enough to give it a go
