How am I doing with my future TREX? HELP?
OK I need everyones opinion on this one. I am putting together a TREX that I can really grow into with out having to do any upgrades. I am a proficient pilot and am starting to venture into 3D with my BCPP but am not really happy with the lack of consitancy in the heli so I have begun buying parts to build a great TREX learning from the people on these boards.

Here is what I have bought so far:
HS-65mgs for the cyclic controls
Futaba 9650 for the tail
JGF 450TH motor
CC PHX 35
UBEC which i will run at 6 volts

I will be using a DX7 with a AR6100 reciever.

And I plan to buy
T-REX 450 SE V2
CSM SL 720 gyro
FP 2170 3s Battery

Am I headed in the right direction? Am I choosing the right battery and gyro I have saved the most expensive stuff for last and I know I could go with cheaper but I really want the best. I think the motor may not be the best but I figure a good effecient motor will be a good way to break the batteries and heli in with and then I can go to a NEU or something. What upgrades do you recomend. I have looked into the V2 blades but not sure if they are that much better than stock or not. Is there anything that you would upgrade right away when getting the V2 kit. How is the belt I have heard good and bad about it. Is it worth swapping out before I put it all together. Also what charger do you guys recomend for the bigger batteries. I have been using the E-Flight charger for my BCPP or my Team Orion Advantage charger. But I think I should take a little better care of my 70-80 dollar batteries. Anyway thanks for any advice.

Go with the Logictech gyro and servo for the tail. Better performance than the 401/9650 combo.

Hitec will be carrying the combo soon also...

If you're gonna go with the V2 you'll need to swap out the dampers for the truebloods right away...

I 2nd this.
The newer Align white carbon blades are good, don't think you need a ubec unless you're going 4s. Go for an Astor 109 and a LBA10 balancer.
You're spending money, spend it well! buy cheap buy twice

Yup, the Logictech is better and costs less too...

I don't have any experience with the Astro charger but the FMA CellPro chargers are great. 65 bucks and they balance while they charge, automaticaly detect cell count or whether one cell is low. If a cell is low it will automatically go into restore mode and it will bring that one cell up to the right voltage and then charge the pack fully. I own two of them. Just plug in the pack and walk away...(after putting them in a LipoSack of course)

Wow thanks guys for all the help. SO you would recomend the trueblood dampers right away. How about the blades and the belt. I have heard nothing but awesome things about the SL 720. Everyone says it holds alot better than the 401 and its really light. I am hoping to keep the weight lower on the heli because I feel like I would rather have it start lite and go to a bigger battery to add weight if I ever wanted to do that.www.seanguthrie.com
