This is quoted form Bert Kammerer from "the other site": "The prototype Razor 50 that Bobby and I flew this past weekend at Birmingham weights approx. 6 3/4 pounds (3 kg). However, weight might change during production. It will more than likely end up being lighter than a rappy 50 by as much as 1 pound."

The electronics stack up bottom to top in this pic. Hard to see but there is a nice flat area well protected up fron on the side..

You should have seen Bobby fly this thing. He hardly gets up over a few feet through the entire flight. SICK

I find the design very German as in Revolution and Henseleit.

Was it a long cut out on the canopy to clear the muffler? Need to do better than that.

I was looking forward to this machine, but seeing these pics, MA can keep it!

What a mess!

It may weigh little and fly nice, but put it along side the Vibe 50 and I say again, what a mess!

The engine position/fan using belt drive and the servo layout reminds me of Quick Uk F1 Carbon 60.

That was my seconf heli and ome of the best I owned. I liked it apart from the horrible wire tail drive.

The Razor looks a nice machine adn i would have one if i had pleny of money but I like my Fury and that is expensive enough to run. Whole point of a 50 for me is cheap with plenty of power. My Knight Sport 50 fulfils that.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that MA's designs are getting more awkward looking these days? To me the stratus and this razor has weird frame layouts. Not saying its a bad design, but just looks awkward. Its unique, but not my taste. I have always like the frame layout of the tempest because it looks cleaner. Sorry I'm just being picky; when I choose a heli, the frame layout and look of the interior is just as important as the exterior.

Try to look at it not with emphasis on esthetics but on mechanical advantages. If it still doesn't please you then it may not be for you.

Even if all things are equal between a 'regular' laid out heli and this one I'd still go for this one because it deviates from the norm. Good things can come from thinking out of the box and not going down roads traveled before.

Also I'd rather support a small family owned business that is thinking out of the box and tries to release more revolutionary products than a large industrial company that just fine-tunes existing designs mostly in order to produce them at lower costs.

That having said I think there is a place for both the revolutionary and evolutionary approaches.

The belt drive system takes away the issues with clutch/engine alignment. The main frame (backbone) is actually a very thick piece of carbon fiber about mid height, laying flat like a bottom plate. It has been said with the engine up front and the thick carbon pieces used, it can take hits pretty good. There aren't those expansive side frames so the smaller carbon pieces can be made thicker and not have a weight penalty.

This is thinking out of the box.

I like it. No push pull, no added control links. Servos are connected directly to the swash. This really helps control flutter and tracking issues so common on 50 class multilinked swash control systems.

After seeing Bobby fly it it looks to be a real performer.
