Lost a Heli Friend to LEGOS!
I have a close personal friend on here, MadCityMan. I got him interested in heli's. So he bought a Blade CP, and then a TREX and a DX6. Since he stuffed his Trex in a snowbank this winter, he never got around to fixing his heli. He sold a bunch of his heli stuff, and bought LEGO's.

He got one of those Mind Storm sets. I haven't seen the thing in action, but I do hear it is pretty neat stuff.

I'll get him back into heli's eventually, even if I have to rebuild his heli myself.

I bought a pair of the mindstorms kits a few months back. They really are cool. I have logged countless hours on the floor of my "playroom" staring at a select few pieces, only to build...absolutely nothing. Just like when I was a kid. A.D.D. sucks...

Seriously though, they are a blast. I have had so much fun I'm thinking of selling my xbox360 setup to buy a $2000 robot. Just like that starter heli, the mindstorms kit is a gateway drug, so buy at your own risk.

Great thing about robotics when compared to helis is that robotics is much more educational. If you have a good basis of electronics and logic it really does help you understand all those electronic devices you use every day.

On another note. Iv been extremely stressed lately being in school full time while working full time and studying for my GRE(total BS) and I happened to check out the legos in the toy isle. I ended walking out of the store with one of these.

Kind of pricey but great therapy. Since I cant work out or fly my heli right now because of my busted thumb its really been helping to lower the blood pressure.

The best thing about Legos vs TRex is that when you crash your Legos, it doesn't cost you $50.Dood, no way!

ages 9-16?

It's funny, how most of us in our 20's, 30's, and 40's can admit we still play with Legos, but a 16 year old?

what 16 year old High School kid could admit to his friends that he plays with Legos?
Thats not happening.
