Just tightening the engine bolt and locking the collars on the hub doesn't mean the hub and fan will spin straight. If the hub is at 0.005 or more (5 thousands) the motor will vibrate at idle and in a hover the fuel in the tank will oscillate.

Dial indicating the stock hub (and collars) is probably a good idea if you want a low vibration heli. Even with the HyperHub I checked the run out with the dial indicator. If you choose to just build the heli and you see the fuel moving excessively in a hover then you have to take the motor out and dial it.

I inspect and check all the parts when building the machine. I roll the main shaft, spindle, flybar, TT, Boom, etc on a glass table to make sure they look straight. This is not a rapter or trex so it needs to be built with some attention of how the part go together. If you enjoy building then this won't be a problem.

You can go to a wholesale tool outlet and get a set with holder for under $30 (make sure that it has .001" resolution). They aren't going to be the best quality obviously, but it will get the job done. If you want some really good stuff, look for a Starrett set or something similar.
