I learned backwards upright flying and inverted forward flying at the same time... I found inverted hovering to be more of a mental block for me.

I wish I had a better simulator than FMS.... but hey, I learned to fly on my own without one at all!

Also, is there any tips on flying backwards, because I have tried that on the sim, and that seems to be the most dangest difficult thing there is for me.
Lead with rudder, then correct with cyclic.

When learning forward flight, you probably learned turns by inputting cyclic first, then adding rudder to keep the heli pointed in the direction you want to go. After a while it becomes automatic and you're doing them both at the same time.

With backwards flight (and backwards inverted), it's easier if you start with RUDDER to point the TAIL in the direction you want to go. You'll probably find that the cylic is already pushing the heli in that direction, so your cyclic correction is often to reduce the amount of cyclic rather than increase it.

As an example, if you're already in a backwards turn and you rotate the rudder in the direction that the heli is tipped, you'll end up so far tail-down that you'll need to input some forward cyclic to get the heli back to the proper fore/aft angle. If you try to lead with cyclic when flying backwards, you'll almost always end up with too much tilt in one of the cyclic controls.

I agree with most of the previous posts. Learn hovering and flight in all orientations. Of course, it's fun to learn some aerobatic tricks along the way. However, the more orientations you are comfortable with the more you can recover from mistakes (unless you're attempting very low-level aerobatics).
