Hey guys,

The site just PM'ed me that and e-mail one of you tried to send bounced back. I rechecked the address in my profile and it's correct so I don't know what the heck the problem was. Please try again and/or PM me. I value all your messages/suggestions/Etc.

Thanks!!!!!

Re: RR Notification Bounce
I think RR sent you an email notification (not a member).

bellsouth.net is having issues with reading RR's DNS. I do not know how to contact them. Maybe you could try. Their error message is shown below. No other ISP is having this problem with RR.

RR sent you an email notification. Bellsouth replied back with the following:
<XXXXXXXX@bellsouth.net>: host gateway-f1.isp.att.net[204.127.217.16] said: 550

Bellsouth had this same kind of problem a while back with Yahoo mail accounts. It took them a while to find and correct the problem but they finally did. It had something to do with a change made to the mail header by Bellsouth's server. If you are a Bellsouth customer, call and make a complaint. Until customers start complaining, they are not likely to work on the problem.Cliff Hebert

I contacted Bellsouth Customer Operations Center at 800-317-3343.
They won't help until one of their customers creates a trouble ticket.

No other ISP is bouncing RR email. The bounce error message (see above) is NOT spam related. It seems to point to a DNS problem.

I contacted Bell South, they are having some sort of upgrade and may bounce msgs for awhile. Don't know why RR is being singled out. I changed my msg notification in RR to one month since I seem to be on here at least once a day. Otherwise the software Mark is using will eventually assume you are no longer a valid email adx and block you from posting, if it gets a to many bounced msgs. With once a month notification , as long as you sign on once in awhile you won't get bounced from RR.

After changing to monthly RR notifications I have no more problems.

Hope this makes sense and is correct Mark.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

i wonder if a mail admin at bell south is trying to enforce SPF or Sender-ID records for sender domains. also it looks as though the A record for mail.runryder.com points to an IP which does not have a matching PTR record .. the PTR record points to "runryder.com" not "mail.runryder.com" which will fail strict rules SMTP anti-spam measures. This is pretty common so most email servers can't effectively enforce strict PTR rules. I suspect that Bell South had to back off the rules they had implemented because of many customers not receiving emails, not just from RR.

$ dig mail.runryder.com
mail.runryder.com. 21400 IN A 205.134.230.242

$ nslookup 205.134.230.242
242.230.134.205.in-addr.arpa name = runryder.com.

A lot of these types of DNS rules are trying to be added to the networking RFC's and protocols to try and provide a mechanism for accountability and traceability of email servers.

Lots of good reading available here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sender_Policy_Framework
http://www.openspf.org/SPF_vs_Sender_ID

might be worth having a discussion with the DNS providers to ensure that runryder.com DNS entries comply as best as reasonably possible to SenderID, SPF, reverse DNS and any new standards that are being promoted. this will save you from getting caught in the future by assertive/aggressive email and DNS admin's. a few years ago I was involved with a similar issue regarding AOL trying to force all email destined for an AOL recipient to have all these new DNS standards in place. Of cource this caused quite a commotion because typical service providers were not positioned to handle the new DNS record types

hope this help, and it may be old information as it's been a few years since I've been actively doing anything DNS related.

Yep I was having the problem too. I figured that they had changed something on some of the filters that look for spam. I was having problems enough with one of the email servers that I manage, so I just changed email servers on rr and had the mail go to another address. I knew they would get it out eventually I was just glad to see that I wasn't the only one having problems......with rr notices and mail servers..Gas is Great
