Old Darth is getting, well, old. Think this scratch built ulgyness is about 15 years old! Covered it with scraps because its so light I thought it would break on the first flight.. wrong! Its a blast to fly.

I want an E version of this but think I'm going to have to scratch build it. Need to change a few things, more rudder, taller fuse, 50/50 split flaps and ailerons next time.

Lol, yea just about enough elevator although the ailerons are actually a bit too big. Only two of these things were made, mine was the prototype and old flying buddy John Thornton made number 2 which had most of the changes I mentioned. John's flew even better. Literally could take off from sitting still directly into a loop and land at the same spot in just over a second without even rolling forward when it landed... Shoulda had a video of that stuff.

Sorta reminiscent of the pogo flight for you.

That guy is either really nuts, has a huge set, or both!

DONT TRASH WHAT THE OTHER GUY IS FLYING OR FLYING WITH. AT LEAST HE IS FLYING!!!

Good question! Since I'm using the Gens ace packs I use in the Logo 600 I don't want to apply Velcro directly to the pack just for the Edge.

So I hacked up an old logo battery tray as a pack caddy which is stuck with Velcro. It will hold the pack and also make it easy to set the pack in the same spot every time once I figure out where I want the CG.
Mikado battery straps and even a few align parts on it so its a hybrid.

Think its done, gonna try and get a flight in on it sometime today, Saturday.

For some reason the pic did not stick, have it now!

Edge flys! Never had good luck with wheel pants and don't like the way they attach on the Edge.. Sure enough one fell off as soon as it cleared the ground..

Using the Kontronic speed control I had in my 500 heli, its a bit weird on the throttle or maybe its just an electric thing.. Feels like it lags a bit on dropping power, kinda makes the Edge not want to land. There is a brake mode but I'm not using it so far. Probably just need to get used to it.

On the third flights landing the tail wheel spring broke right in the middle of the wire loop. I'm thinking are ya kidding me? The runway cracks broke the wire? It was super small wire and I just made another one out of proper piano wire.
The spinner cone is not perfect true so I'm going to have to replace that too.

So it had a few bugs but it does fly very well.
