DaveB...the general consensus was a general amazement at how far the jet could glide.

As I am sure you are aware, we were all very happy you got it down in one piece with no damage upon landing. That was some great dead stick flying!

Also, who did you let fly it? I was surprised to see someone else at the controls. Heck...can I buddy box next time you bring it out?

I need to hook up with Matt and get something faster to fly. The wing that I have is so slow compared to what you guys are flying (prop planes, not Dave's jet). lol

wow,,, all i can say is wow. schawn that 500 u sold me rocks. my first 500 size chopper. ( im a 450 man ) hey thanks for the help setting up that gyro and head schawn ( and tyrone on other end of phone ) ( master minds combo )im sitting here typing this at 4:30 am ( im so excited schawn ) i cant sleep ( had dreams of spooling up my new 500 ) so again just a big '' TY '' schawn and tyrone.

on a side note, it's been a while scince i set up a Jr 8103 radio for a helicopter, must least over the phone. you really had me racking my brains for a while. I'm glad I remembered and yall was able to understand what i was saying to do. I wish i could of been there but i'm 1-1/2 hours away. Good job.

Gliding Jet

Yes, Skwidd the Bandit glides very well thank goodness. However, it is balanced per manufacturer which makes it very nose heavy. It will glide better once I move the CG back. I had almost full up elevator on take offs and on landings. That is not the way I like to fly so the batteries will be moving to the rear. Im glad we were able to get one of my other flying buddies that is a JetCat rep. He helped us get the engine running without flame out. There were two settings that were set for too fast of a response from idle and to full speed. When these were changed to normal settings the engine was fine. It should not have been set up for fast response in 90 deg weather. When I flew in Houston about 2 months ago, it was cooler and I didnt have any flame outs.

Yea honeybee man all i need is complete head ,main shaft and tail stuff and those servos you said you might have bring them out when you get a chance . I changed my control link end might be able to fly tomm depending on the wifey. Tyrone heard about the crash sorry it sucks, but you were pushing it and it was some awsome flying berfore that inverted good job man Except for the crash! Honey bee man glad to fix your helis i like fixing them its alot better than my flying for sure or mabey its my heli JUNK who knows!

Dave, interesting on the CG. I guess when you have power, the thrust vectoring helps, but dead stick shows the aircraft's true colors.

I am still amazed though, since your jet was the first I have seen in action, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!! Do it every weekend!!!!

I also heard tonight that I missed Bob getting some flying in. Last he flew one of his birds, he did a great job. He did better than I have done on my best day, then claimed he was rusty. Rusty? Whatever!!!!! lol great flying.

What a great sunday!

Well I got my first flybarless heli comming in. Outrage 550 with an eight cell setup. Vbar of coarse. 8 volts to the cyclic. This should be one bad heli. No more flame outs. On another note, Dave it looks like I will be selling the synergy soon and getting a Rex 700. You happy now bud!

hey man, thanks again for all the help and support getting my 500 bird flying. so far over 15 flights and smooth as a bird.im going slow at first, trying to get used to the handling of a bigger ship. cant wait to hear how your new flybarless version fly as well.

ok more updates on my new 500 electric ( bigger is better )

man, u all were right, i love this ship. im used to flying little guppies ( 450 ) zipping all over, this 500 feels huge, slow mo, i popped it upside down, loved it. nose in yeah man, ( is that stick slamming? ) he he oh well, i can dream shawn. tyrone hot on my heel, but i still have a few tricks up my sleave to keep him at bay.
