Awesome pic of Nigel flying his Trex 600E on 10S lipo.

FYI, that canopy was painted by local painter Weses Design!

Things I will never forget about Snohomish.......

Jason Krause autoing down and landing on a table! More than once!

Jason Krause doing stationary flips and purposely touching his skids to the ground!

Jason Krause doing piro flips on the deck and stopping mid maneuver and starting it back up again!

Matt Botos doing the crack roll on the deck!

Nigel Browns flights with his trex 600E he had dirt stains on his main and tail rotor blades for christs sake! He did'nt have grass stuck to his tail blades he had it stuck in the blade grips for christs sake!

I think there was one point where Nigel Brown, Mike Scoles and Matt Botos carved theyre names in the grass during night flying!

I am still not able to sleep!

To those that missed it what a shame.

Just to weigh in.

The flying was incredible and I witnessed some of the most incredible night flying I have ever seen. The best part, each pilot egging on the other to one up each other. Oh and they did!

I have to ad that the synergy is on heck of a lawn mower.

I think the weeds lost about 3 feet that night.

Wow is all that comes to mind.

Best part of all, no carnage either.
< edit >
in the tall grass with the pros that night... There was carnage and some big hits. Jeff's synergy was a total loss, as well as others though the weekend. Including a channel conflict that was professionally handled. As well as others I am sure I am unaware of.
<edit>

Can't wait for next year, and this one is only one day in the books.

LOL

There were a very large number of crashes, minor and major, radio lockouts were frequent, but the pros stayed mostly off the ground, except (i) Nigel Brown's lack of loctite crash, and (ii) his spectacular dual boom strike with raining helicopter parts. (tighten the blades well if you may have to bail out of an auto with stopped blades)

I am mad at myself, as well as embarrassed, for crashing like I have never done before, out of dumb fingers, and too sparse loctite on the tail rotor set screw, but I am glad they were all easy to fix. I feel bad for everyone who wrecked harder than me.

I was thinking the same thing....No carnage???!!!! Man, helis were hitting the ground pretty regular. I broke one of my personal bests for longest time between crashes. One was planting an auto for the auto contest which broke the gear on my Synergy and the second was an auto that started OK, but from about mid way until contact with the ground there was no pilot input being listened to then after contact with the ground, control was regained but again the gear broke. Turns out the DX-7 realy does reboot below 4.7 volts, my bad.
Those are pretty minor as far as crashes go but there was some real smoking holes created.

All I know is that I have two synergy's sitting on my workbench that only need a cleaning... Think I need some weed-be-gone. For the amount of abuse we put those things through on Saturday night, they should be in a million pieces! I think I can claim the lowest tailslide into the weeds title...

I also got a low battery warning,(acted like a lockout) gotta remember to charge the batteries

Battery
[/quote]Oh my... was that the Tx pack you brought down to 4.7v??

Nah, it was the receiver. I do check it every flight but the meter I was using was not putting a heavy enough load on the battery to show what was realy going on. Todd said it best, it was going to cost me some money and I was pretty lucky to have gotten away with for several months. I didn't realize these system can draw up to 6 amps. Oh well, got a Fromeco system ordered now so I guess I'll be flying fixed wing for a couple of weeks until it gets here.

Mike I think you can thank Nigel for both heli's being in one piece, he did talk you out of doing that last tandem night flight.

That was simply amazing night flying from all of you.

I was thinking of the Night flying by Mike, Nigel, Matt and Jason. I fully expected those helis to hit the ground...

I do understand that there were helis raining from the sky over the weekend.

I apologize and feel for all those that have lost helis this weekend.

I am just happy we were all safe and no one to my knowledge was hurt.
Any channel conflict damage that happened I also understand was handled professionally and responsibly.

All in all great flying, great weather and good food.

I enjoyed it...
One observation was that there was no music during the entire event. It was strangely quiet between flights. Not sure if they had to get rid of music during the event, along with the pyrotechnics...

We had music on at one point. It was turned down so we could hear each other at the registration table. As far as I know, no one asked for music.

I'd like to thank everyone that attended our "heli party".

If you all want music next year, let me know I will bring my little 1200 watt system with loudspeakers, and we can all set up a little camp.

I just need the 2000 watt+ generator to run the beast... LOL

We will work with the CD and others nearby to make sure we don't inconvenience anyone.

Let the planning begin!
