Evo 50 still #1 Hello all. I have owned several evo 50's but made the mistake of selling them both. I upgraded to a hirobo x-spec 90 and have been on a slower learning curve with the more complicated 90 size heli. So i decided to buy another 50 size heli. I had serious thoughts of buying the trex600n, after talking to a friend and thinking about i had a change of heart.First off $600 for a 50 size kit with no main blades is pretty steep. Yea i understand they come with a torque tube and c.f. main frame but isn't one of the reasons for buying a 50 the ease of use and cost of replacement parts? I know align parts are cheep ( as are the quality of parts) but pile in the 600n and expect to pay dearly for new mainframe and the complexity of replacing a torque tube setup. There is something to be said about customer service and Jeff Green of MRC is unmatched. Would align replace parts once for free let alone twice because they got lost in the mail. ( I think not)Needless to say i bought another evo 50 and two late night of building it was done. After two setup flights it was flying like a dream without one aftermarket part installed. As for me it is Hirobo all the way!!! |

Trex 600 Nitro blows the evo away. I am selling my EVO 50 and getting a Trex 600N, they are going to put T and Hirobo out of business. |

And the lemmings have spoken! Why, oh why, is it that every time something new comes out, good or not, everyone makes like lemmings heading for a cliff to go that direction? Especially, when the thing is so new that nobody really knows anything? You don't have to look back that far to see other times that the lemmings ran, and then the brand just basically fell over . . . For me, there is a heck of a lot more to judge than just how the model flies, and so far, I have stuck with Hirobo's as well - they are just plain better build and supported than pretty much anything else out there, and I know that the brand will be there tomorrow. I'll gladly give up 5 to 10 percent of flight performance to know that I have folks like Jeff Green behind me, and not some anonymous soul in Asia that can't even speak my language . . .So, while I am considering the 600N, the first reports of part and build QC problems are rapidly making me think of another Hirobo instead . . . I like to fly, not translate Jinglish or deal with bad parts . . .- Tim |

Maybe if Hirobo would not charge $1400 to have a Blinged out heli when I can have a Trex Nitro for $600 blinged out then I might go back. |

The big difference is that the Hirobo flies great without the bling - others require that stuff to be worth flying . . . .- Tim |

Exactly. With Hirobo it is bling. With the 600n it is necessary. I own a 600n and it's a nice heli but it's not all that. Just look at the issues already popping up and it's not in wide spread circulation yet. Mine has been grounded due to a warped fan. Align's response was send it back and if we determine it's warped we'll send you a new one if we have one in stock. Sorry but Jeff's response would be "where do I send the new one?" All in all it's been a pretty disappointing experience so far. |

The Evo is a great solid 50. Flies great.Don't know about the 600N. Will wait until 600N hits V2 (or 3, or 4, or 5 etc...) before I even begin to consider it.For now, the Evo 50 rocks !Lemming or no lemming ...... |

All I know is I have been flying an evo for 3 years and I have flown Raptors as well. The Trex Nitro is the best flying 50 I have flown. |

Just a quick overview of some of the other forums and here's what I found:1.) One of the UK's better pilots has given up his Align sponsorship and go back to his Knight 3D2.) Others are reporting clutch failures already. On mine the clutch doesn't engage until 1/2 stick so it's only a matter of time.3.) Stripped starter coupling. The metal is too soft.4.) Dampers done after 8 flights5.) Plastic is soft and poor quality. After 8 flights some of the self tapping screws will no longer tightenThese are on top of the issues already being reported with the warped fans. Guess it hasn't been to world dominator originally thought. |

What's it's made of is nowhere near as important as how well it's built . . . poorly built carbon and aluminum is definitely inferior to well done engineering plastic. And I think the statement that was dubbed "lame and baseless" was your prediction that Hirobo and TT will fold because of this new product.- Tim |

Lame and baseless based on the comment that the 600n would put Hirobo out of business. Do you even know anything about Hirobo's market? Look at Japan or the world F3C and let me know how many are flying Align helis. There's no doubt they will sell alot of 600n's but they are not putting Hirobo out of business. |

Sadly, many people care more for looks than substance. It's sad because they apply the same when judging people. Just look at how many bling threads are on RR. |
