Tail having a hard time holding. One thing is I'm running a lower head speed right now due to the lower KV of this Z50A-600 (565kv) comming from my Orbit 30-12 which had a KV of 650. Head speed dropped from 2100 to 1850 on 10s2p a123 batteries. As soon as the 14 tooth pinion comes in it will be back up to the 2100 range but the tail has never held like my Swift but I just always figured it was from the control rod and from the larger physical size (bigger = slower?). Since I keep growing with my e620 I'm starting to loose the tail occasionally now. This is an event for me since I'm concentrating so hard doing what I'm trying to master. Right now I'm running a 401/9254 and stock tail blades. The gyro is set to about 60 delay. It's nerve racking to say the least! My two options to try as I see it are
1) Tail mount servo 2) Better tail blades or longer onesIf you have other ideas on what it could be or things I could try let me know.If you think one or the ohter would help make sure to include a link or a place where the item could be bought.Tom |

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...vk9&FVPROFIL=++I just noticed that you have 60 delay – that could be the problem. With the S9254 servo that should always be zero. Also your power system is not very good. With that battery you need a much higher Kv motor like the Z50A-800. With a E620 setups with a 9 or 10t pinion and 2100-2200 headspeed work best. The extra headspeed will also make the tail run faster and hold better.. |

Tail mounted servos don’t help.Sounds like you have some problem with binding or tight bearings. It could also be a bad servo.Longer tail blades will help. I like the Century 92mm CF blades myself

Be aware that 92mm blades will allow you to run 620mm main blades. If you run 95mm tail blades and try 620 mains it will explode when you try hard negative collective 3D. |
