Trex 600 600L Motor - How many Flights ? Today I have put 193 flights on my Trex 600 CF with the orginal 600L motor and i'm thinking about upgrading to get more power over the 5min flight times.I'm thinking about the 600XL over the NEU because of pricing and I must admit that I have been pretty good with the collective management when using the 600L.I would like to hear the final thoughts from anyone with a 600XL that has over 100+ flights. . ..Remember your motors will last if you take care of them. . . . ![]() |

XL i have one 600 with the XL1650 it has over 75 flights, and have not noticed any reduction in power or noise.i run my xl at 100% TC with 11t pinion.but compared to my NEU powered 600 its a little soft,so if you have a choice get the NEU,1515/2.5 or 1512/1.5....they only cost twice as much but have significant WOW factor. |

I have around 65 flights on my XL motor and it just started to make a slight screeching sound last night. Looks like the bearings need to be replaced. Does anyone know how to get these motors apart? Do It! Do It!™ AMA:REVOMIX RCK:24005615-01 |

150 plus I've got over 150 flights on the xl motor. I'd fly 3 times (3 tp5000 batts) rapid succesion without allowing the motor to cool between flights. I'm running an 11 tooth helical, 100% throttle curve in idle up.After about 100 flights the motor got noisey and did suffer some loss of performance. I also noticed some up-down play in the shaft (helical pinion). I just got the feeling it wasn't going to last too much longer. Well the other day while doing some moderate 3D it just quit on me. Wham, gone, the heli had smoke coming out of it while it was coming down. When I finished autoing in. I ran over to it , snatched the canopy off and saw the motor smoking. Whew, the battery is ok. The motor was burned to a crisp, real strong burnt electrical smell, black dust everywhere. Some are saying the helical gear is putting some extra stress on the motor bearings. I also read that align was discontinuing the helical gear/pinion setup. I can't say whether or not the helical gear setup had an adverse effect on the motor life.I bought another 600xl motor. For the price I'l give it another shot (80cents/flight). If I have the same experience I'll try the neu 1515/2.5D next. |
