Independent testing of Flightpower and other cells
Interesting lipo tests here:

Some interesting things I've found:

Of Flightpower EVO 20
http://www.slowflyer.ch/downloads/tn060051.pdf

Discharge to 2.9v/cell (96% of rated capacity) capacity
dropped by %7 over 36 cycles. Discharging to 3.1v/cell
less capacity drop now observed for next 50 cycles.
(keeping a max 80% discharge rule is looking good here)

Plus other interesting data there.

More testing of another Flightpower EVO 20 pack

 degradation per 100 cycles at 1C charge rate. 
degradation per 100 cycles per 3C charge rate.

Some Kokam cells

Only %8 capacity lost over 360 cycles and 2C charging
the whole time. Discharge down to 2.7v and still hardly any degradation observed.

Well for those Kokam packs 2C looks ok and some of the other testing on there shows even after 300 cycles they have not lost capacity. I was impressed with the Kokam testing. Why do people mainly use TP and FP and not Kokam?

advertizing helps alot I had never herd of kokam before.

Kokam is a good lipo, only they do not have a wide range of sizes and capacities....Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Kokams were some of the first RC usable packs on the market. But.. chargers were hard to come by, ESC's were not set up for them and the big thing, they were like 5C rated.But who knew? Data was scetchy so it was learn or burn. Lots of puffed packs and unhappy people. Some charging fires too. I'm sure that hurt them being first but seems like they are making a comeback. I don't even know, do they make a 20C 2200 3cell?
