engine removal Hi,I would like to know when pulling the engine out of the heli, can you leave the aluminium motor block mounts on the engine and slide it through the base plate? or does it only pass when removing the alloy blocks from the engine?reason why I'm asking is that it looks like you have to tighten the motor mount screws with L-type hexagonal keys to be able to reach the engine screws. |

Leave the motor mounts there permanent , use the small part of the allen key to slacken , then a long ball ended one to remove them , it takes minutes to get her out , very easy |

The engine mount is attatched to the baseplate so it must remain in situ,,its easy to just undo the engine to engine mount bolts |

ok,I just thought it was a pain to remove those bolts with that small end of the allen key, unlike the raptor, you could remove the engine with it's entire motor mount.thanks a lot guys |

Hi MaximeSounds like you need to invest in a good set of hex drivers, a few of the better sets give you straight and ball ends.
The ball ends allows you to wizz out bolts that you can't get to with a straight end like the engine mount bolts on most heli's.UpdateRC have some on their website http://www.updaterc.com/V2/catalog/...roducts_id=3905Cheers

I have a good set of hex drivers with straight ends, but I'll try to find the ones for the motor mount in a ball end. |

I did it slightly differently and dropped the motor complete with baseplate, engine mounts so I could leave the silencer un-disturbed as I needed to replace the fan magnets. You can only do this if the muffler dia is small enough to get access to the frame to mount bolts. It also requires the U/C to be removed. My rear bearing is getting noisy on the Hyper so will be dropping the motor out again but this time will do it the other way as the muffler etc will be removed. |
