I used my ballinj plyers to remove it.To reassemble i put the tri-angled piece on the edge of the table then pushed the slider onto it , keeping the pressure straight on.I figure this way there isn't going to be any sideways pressure that would break it off.Martin What goes up will come down.... one way or another ! |

I used ball link pliers to remove it also. I pressed mine on making sure it was straight up and down. It is a PAIN IN THE A$$! I wish I had a better solution for you...RonTeam MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!! |

It's like the other's say you need to force it on. When I did my first I thought, "No Way" so I actually used a drill bit and made the opening a bit bigger. The second or third time (and final time! ) I needed to replace it I just pushed it on and heard a loud click/snap. I figured there would be broken parts under my thumbs but all was good. As I mentioned before that was the last time I had to replace one.I could see how it would be easy to break on taking it off since it would be hard to take it straight off with out adding side presure or prying it off. You should have no problems.Good luck!TomMarried with 2 kids, I am no stranger to pain! |

thanks for you responses. i was freaking out last night, wife/kid was out, and had the whole evening to play with my toys ... and the ball breaks while removing it. luckily i had the spare part, but i wasn't sure of how much force to exert and i didn't want to break another one.anyhow, it worked out fine, i placed it on a table as suggested and pushed it hard and it did fit!thank you again ... khan |

yes that's a good trick, push it against a firm surface. I used a screwdriver and wedged it open from the slot just a bit. It will feel sloppy at first but the socket will go back to its original resting position if you don't stretch it too much.I also found a slight problem with the swift tail bellcrank.. the slider ball swings on the shaft as the bellcrank moves the slider left and right. The bellcrank doesn't swing upward or downward with the ball, but if you can use just enough washers under the bellcrank bushings you can get the bellcrank in the sweet spot where it doesn't want to bind in full left or full right. Remove the servo pushrod and you might see what i'm talking about........... Dave

WheelhausNot sure how yours is binding as the geometry on mine is fine with standard mounting of the bellcrank. The pitch slider moves around the shaft as the bellcrank moves to compensate for the arc of movement of the bellcrank end and the ball pivots in the link as required so no binding at all. |
