RC Cars Help!!!
I'm thinking about getting an rc car. Nitro or electric I have not made up my mind just yet. They just look like fun and thats whats its all about right? Also need a radio. Really not looking for a RTR combo, they seem to need to many up grades to go fast and handle good. Any of you guys been into cars? How about some advice. I've been looking at Team Losi and I like Spekrum radios but, I'm open to other brands. I'm just trying to make a good choice. I don't have anyone right now to race aginest, just want to spin the tires and through some dirt. I only want to get one so I want one thats BAD with a good radio with bling. I want something for off road, buggy or truck you tell me what you like and why. Thanks. Can you help a brother out!!

I had tons of cars.I like and still own Losi brand stuff.I would get electric and I would get a truck over a buggy for sure.It gets boring quick if you don't race.See if you have a local track to run at.

I bought a truck and it was pretty cool, but it got boring after using it two or three times. Like Bundy said if you aren't planning on taking it to a track it's going to get boring very very quick.

Here is mine. It's a Krosho Half Eight Nitro. It's small, but very fast. And it includes a bump starter box. All you need to add is fuel. -Steve

That looks slow compared to 1/8 rallycross and no ware near as fast as the 1/6 off road.

I was expecting at least twice that speed.

Hmmm
I've been watching races on youtube for quite a while...The revo looked fast to me, not to mention it hit 48 mph (didn't see a radar gun, but looked about right to me). Anyway, I thought it was cool.

Do you have a vid of something off-road going faster? (not trying to be rude or anything).

Hi Tommy,

I will try and find a video of some offroad racing but like I said that was slow, I used to race offroad for five years before going back to flying, just got fedup with all the car cleaning week in week out.

1/8 offroad in the UK is very big atracting over 120 drivers at the Nationals throughout the summer.

Go Nitro, Go 1/8 truck
I would say that going nitro instead of electric would be a good choice, if you hate 5-6 minute run times, charging, and the added expense of batteries. It just like rc helis, they both share the same pros and cons. Before getting into the RC Heli hobby, I messed around with Nitro and Electric cars, and I found that electrics are just a waste of time personally. Electric RC Heli's are fine, but Cars thats just a different story.

As far as what to get, If you plan on just bashing(non-competitiion driving) around(which is what i do) I would recommend you get an 1/8 scale monster/truggy truck. Their far more durable and can take the abuse of driving over any obstacle and terrain; You could also race a the truck at a local track if you want. I have the 1/8 Hot Bodies Lighting Stadium.

Buggies aren't really meant for bashing, as their designed to go extremely fast, and handle tight corners on race tracks. Plus, they can't take the same amount of abuse as the 1/8 scale trucks.
